Yeah, I'd argue for the inclusion of alternate romanizations of the character 元, especially as it's pronunciation varies across dialects (Mandarin is 'yuan,' Cantonese is 'man' (like the "mon" in money)). However, Yen is the Japanese pronunciation for that symbol, but it's a different currency, so accepting that one could be problematic...

The Japanese Yen isn't even the same character. It's 円, not 元.

half a billion?? there are only 7.7 billion people on the entire planet, and that was 5.3 in 1990. So I assume not at the same time... cause that would be quite impossible ( if you discount all the people that do not own a tv (which are more than you think, think about poor areas, even though there are families with 4 tv's nowadays...), are asleep or at work, that doesnt leave a lot of people)

btw browsing through the population data, a startling/astonishing fact. In 1970 the world population was half of what it is now.... let that sink in!

Less actually. It was 3.7 in 1970 and we are now at 7.7 ... (it was half of 2015/2016 when we were at 7.38/7.47)

1 billion 1804

2 billion 1930

3 billion 1960

4 billion 1974

5 billion 1987

6 billion 1999

7 billion 2011

10 billion estimated 2055

scary data...

Yanni, as I learned just this week, actually disavows the label "new age" to describe his music. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't get to choose labels others ascribe to him. Were he to have his druthers, though, "new age" would not be among those labels.
