I am curious as to why there are the Italian spellings of some cities, (i.e. Firenze for Florence) but some are spelt the English way? (i.e. Naples for Napoli) Not that it really effects the quiz in any way... Just seems inconsistent. Anyways, wonderful quiz by the way!

The one that always gets me is Piedmont, although Friuli is tricky. I remember Molise because it is kind of the political barrier between the North and South, and I remember Basilicata because it's my favorite region. I love this quiz :D

Quite true, but Abruzzo is still considered Southern Italy (or Mezzogiorno)

Piedmont I never struggle with, given its historical importance as part of Piedmont-Sardinia, the kingdom that united Italy. The southern regions I find trickier.

Trentino-Alto Adige could also be South Tyrol, because that's what it has been called historically.

South Tyrol is only a part of Trentino-Alto Adige, so they are not the same thing.

As a wine lover, not too difficult (they're also the wine regions of Italy). Alto Adige should be accepted I feel

Was left with two to get, time ticking away, then noticed that the table with the answers listed the regions alphabetically and could work out what was missing from that. So thanks a lot JetPunk for helping! :-)

Maybe accept FVG for Friuli-Venezia-Giulia? It's the abbreviation for it.
