even if gibraltar isnt part of the uk it still borders spain, so either but the british flag there as its a british crown dependency or put gibraltars flag there
This is a great quiz! It's challenging because, you have to know the countries flag, then once you found that, you need to know where those countries are located, and think which countries only border those. But, I got 20/20! Nice job!
A flag quiz which made me think more than usual.. Great idea. I look forward to hopefully seeing more of these. You could maybe have drag and drops of flags as the answers instead of typing? I know how 'not' busy you are? ; )
Weird—some maps show a land border between Qatar and the UAE, while others show that Qatar only shares a land border with Saudi Arabia. Is this due to territorial disputes between the UAE and Saudi Arabia?
I was confused as well, since I always learned that it doesn't. But apparently, sou66 is right in a sense. There is a thing called Treaty of Jeddah from 1974, that only the SA signed, and before, UAE did shared a border with Qatar. And since UAE didn't signed the treaty, some maps shows the old borders. But Jetpunk accepts the new borders and therefore, Quatar only borders SA.
it doesnt say that overseas didnt count. and as youve got to count them in some way for these quizzes you should count crown dependencies to the uk because its under the rule of the british monarch
Guantanamo Bay is actually Cuban territory leased by the US from the Cuban government. The US has held the lease since the end of the Spanish-American War and sends checks each year to the Cuban government for the usage of the land.
Are you trolling? Northern ireland which is one of the parts of the UK (like Wales, England and Scotland) quite obviously borders the republic of Ireland. Both being on the island named Ireland.
Btw if you are not, I am very curious where you are from (or what you age is, I guess if you are 6 or under it is forgivable. It is like saying japan isn't a country but part of (or another name for) china. Or saying portugal does not border spain, only france. Mixing spain and france up.)
Islands can have borders. Haiti and the Dominican Republic are on Hispaniola. Malaysia, Brunei, and Indonesia are on Borneo. PNG and Indonesia are on New Guinea. East Timor and Indonesia are on Timor. Chile and Argentina have borders on islands.
Really easy, but great! I think putting the Ireland - UK question twice is a bit weird. If you got it once, you'll get it again, if you didn't get it the first time, you won't on the second try. What's the use?
The quiz is about identifying country flags. In order to know that two answers are reciprocal you have to know both flags. For example, if someone knows the Union Jack they'll be able to get Ireland, but if they don't know the Irish flag, they won't know that answer is the UK.
There's a bit of confusion about borders on this site. It's a site standard or policy that country borders refer to land borders. And then generally, land borders includes inland rivers (like the Rio Grande). In the real world, countries generally 'own' the waters within 200 miles of their shores *unless* that water overlaps with the 200 mile territorial water of another country. All Ocean/Sea that is more than 200 miles from any country is considered to be 'international waters'. In cases where countries are separated by ocean/sea and within 200 miles of each other, there is a defined border in the water between them - they share a border in the water as there is no international water between them. Jetpunk does not count oceanic borders.
Denmark borders Canada on Hans Island, so why does it say that Canada only borders the USA? Also, the Netherlands borders France on the island Saint Martin.
i think you should add denmark for canadas borders, and you should also add canada for denmarks borders, both countries have a land border between hans island
This quiz was great though.
Let's not make the King Fahd causeway case here, as it is addressed in many other places already. :)
