I reckon 39% isn't bad for a Brit who's never travelled west of the Hudson.

"Way down yonder on the Chattahoochee, it gets hotter than a hoochie coochie." Thank you, Alan Jackson.

The Sabine River separates Texas from Louisiana and before the Republic of Texas was established it separated Mexican territory from US area. It runs through a very large reservoir, Toldeo Bend, that is a hot spot for bass fishing. The Sabine empties into the Glf of Mexico. Consider adding it.

Clearly my knowledge of US rivers isn't too great, but naming lots of states seems to help!

Add Dakota to James river choices so it is also known.

I know I'm years late, but as a Dakotan, it's not called the Dakota River. It's the James River

Consider adding some leeway on Susquehanna? I must have tried that a dozen times before I got it right (I think I was probably spelling it *henna.

Fantastic quiz, but I wish the names would be tied to the rivers after the conclusion so that one could click a river and find out its name.

Also: I think this quiz is very tied to where you're from. I got the Wabash and the Chattahoochee because I'm from Indiana and spent childhood summers in Columbus, GA.

If you place your cursor atop a river on the map the name shows up in the bottom left corner.

Why is there a picture of Portland Head Light for rivers? It's a mile or 2 below the mouth of the Presumpscott "River" which is a ditch that widens out into the harbor.

Being from North Dakota, I had an advantage at naming the James River.

Fun fact: North Dakota and Virginia each have a river called the James River that flows through a city called Jamestown.

Did not know that ND had a James River. But living in Williamsburg and my back yard is the James River in Virginia, I got it right by guessing even though it was not on the map. The interesting thing is that the Potomac is the 4th longest river, and the James is the 2nd. Jamestown is no longer a city but a historical landmark. Williamsburg/Newport News are the actual cities now in these parts where Jamestown used to be.

So you're implying that Alaska isn't indeed an archipelago located a few 100 miles off the shore of California?
