Thought it was Universal Studios......

Level 68
May 10, 2018
Universal isn't part of Disney World!
+6
Level 82
May 11, 2018
It used to be MGM Studios. If they wanted to be kind they would accept that. But Universal is definitely a whole different studio and whole separate theme park. Disney's first major competitor in both the LA and Orlando areas.

It was still MGM last time I was there. How long ago was the name change?
+1
Level 77
May 16, 2018
No it isn't. I was just there in 2017 and it's Hollywood Studios. Before that it was I think 2000 when I was last there and it was MGM then.
+1
Level 89
Sep 4, 2018
It was called MGM Studios until 2008.

I thought I was going crazy because I knew we went to MGM Studios when I was a kid in the 90's. I had no idea they changed the name.
+4
Level 77
May 10, 2018
Dating myself. All I could come up with was MGM Studios. It hasn't been called that in a decade.
+1
Level 66
May 11, 2018
Same here, only I never knew about the name change. The quiz makes it obvious whatever it's called now has more than three letters, but I had absolutely no idea what it was.

Got everything but the four land animals, because at that moment I forgot this was a U.S. only quiz and ran through all of the obvious suspects (elephant, rhinoceros, hippo) before moving on to the more esoteric (diplodocus, etc). Sigh.

Level 84
May 17, 2018
Yeah, same here.
+5
Level 73

Same here! Was about to come here and complain that how on earth are there no elephants etc. that are clearly heavier than bears and moose, and then it hit me :'D

Level 75

One more here.

Level 78

Wow, the answers to that one make so much more sense now! Totally forgot it was US-based.

I was also fooled. Very sneaky...I like it.
+3
Level 49

I did the same, trying to enter the real monopoly railroads until I figured they were after the US version...

Level 77

Shouldn't need to type "san" for those four cities starting with san.
+1
Level 76
May 11, 2018
But if you don't you'd be saying Antonio and Diego and Jose and Francisco which is kinda stupid.
+6
Level 85
May 11, 2018
But that's how it usually works on this site - with quizzes such as "Answers contain X" you don't have to type in the X part of the answer.
+3
Level 86
Sep 4, 2018
I just took it, and you no longer have to type "San."

Level 83
May 11, 2018
Shouldn't the fourth heaviest land animal in the US be the moose rather than the elk? Wikipedia suggests the moose is heavier (a maximum of over 1400lb for the Alaska moose compared with 1300lb for the Roosevelt elk).
+5
Level 91
May 11, 2018
Was just getting ready to suggest the same thing. A moose is definitely bigger than an elk and is definitely present in the wild here in the USA.
+2
Level 90
May 11, 2018
Yep. I would definitely agree, Can't even blame this one on the quiz maker being German. That was a good three hours of my life I want back when I went down that rabbit hole the first time I was there. Boy things are much easier now in the age of smart phones.

My neighbor has a team of Belgians that aren't far behind that and they are the calmest, most gentle horses I've ever around, but of course neither breed is native to the USA.

Can you accept MGM for Hollywood Studios, since it was called that for nearly 20 years?
+1
Level 84

Yeah, seriously. Like a dozen other posters, it was MGM Studios when I was there. I had no idea it had changed.
+3

Tough quiz for us non Americans. Fun to take, but a few of the categories (those on the right) are pure guess work.

For some reason, my brain just threw out "U.S." when it came to heaviest land animals. I wrote elephant, giraffe, hippo, rhino, etc. I got to the answer reveal and for a second I thought, "No way a brown bear is heavier than an elephant". smh
+1
Level 86

Right there with you! Could not understand how bears and buffaloes were heavier than an elephant.

Level 88

Yeah I tried elephant several times before I realized what the problem was.
+3
Level 82
Sep 4, 2018
I looked up brown bears and it says that adults weigh between 180 lbs and 1300 lbs. Considering that the heaviest American on record is Jon Brower Minnoch who topped 1400 lbs, shouldn't "Americans" knock brown bears off the list of "heaviest American land animals?"

I have seen, with my own eyes, an elephant born in the United States, heavier than any of those four

So, as a non-American...What are the four corners states at the four corners of?
+1
Level 83
Sep 4, 2018
There is only one place in the United States where the borders of four different states meet. At the four corners, it's possible to be in four states at the same time. I've never been there, but it's a popular tourist destination from what I've read.

I've been there, and there's a large flat monument where one can stand in a single spot and snap a selfie while standing in all four states. Not sure why that ever became a big deal, but it's owned and maintained by the Navajo who charge an admission fee and sell food and souvenirs at the site. I picked up a nice art print there. The monument also highlights the Navajo and Ute tribes in the region.

I've been there. It's not that exciting, but it's a nice thing to knock of the bucket list. I have to go to four more states to get all 50. I've been stuck at 46 for a number of years now.

a bull can easily weigh as much as a moose or a bison.

I think the question is intended to mean wild animals, otherwise we could count the elephants and hippos and such in zoos.

Typing bear should work for polar bear because elk works for moose!
