Me, 12. I'll never forget Hilo: we went to pick up the rental car at the airport only to find we'd flown into the wrong town! The car was waiting for us in Kona, on the other side of the island...

The difference between a town and a city really doesn't have anything to do with size or population. In most states, a town becomes a city when it incorporates--that is, creates a municipal corporation. There are many cities in the US with fewer than 100 inhabitants, a handful with fewer than 10. Monowi, Nebraska, is famous for being a city with a population of 1.

This was a nice selection. Many of these places would be too insignificant, except for a single, relatively well-known distinguishing feature, which makes this about more than just guess-work.

I live in cedar rapids way to represent! :) Also have been to 11 other of these towns, but I got a perfect score. I love the state list on the right helps a lot at the end. :)

Well haven't been to many of these. Passed through Chula Vista on my way to Tijuana, stopped overnight in Flagstaff, passed through Waco en route from Dallas to Austin without stopping. Still, found it easier than the first version where I think I only got 25 and a few were guesses.

3:15. I am irrationally in love with this type of quiz. So much fun. I guess just a lifetime reading datelines and remembering them. I've only been to 17 of these, give or take. I think that shows that a lot of these are a bit off the beaten track, not all airport or interstate towns.

I used to pay attention to college sports, but I don't anymore. Still, knowing all of those college towns gave me a boost. Dodge City, KS is the windiest city in the USA, while Braintree is sometimes given as John Quincy Adams' birthplace.

How I got all with 1:01 remaining: guess the cities that I know (or think I know), then type a random state into the box; if it's not correct then press the 'down' key and copy and paste that state again; repeat until you get it correct. Then repeat this for all the remaining states. 😊

It's a percentile among all the folks who have taken the quiz, not a % correct. You got 33 or 67% correct, but most people got even more correct (average score of 37 shown above), so you're below the 50th percentile of the quiz takers.

I've never heard of most of these cities, but I was able to get a lot through some guessing. Some people probably did that since each state is used once and it helps narrow down the remaining.

A bunch of these are also Texas town names, I was about to freak until Waco finally worked, haha. Keene, Roanoke, Paducah. Just shows how creative we Americans are...

I am unclear about the definition of "city" being used for this quiz. For example, Bethesda is an "unincorporated, census-designated place" and not a town or city. Maybe some clarification on this point if the Quizmaster feels it is necessary. If not, no worries, fun quiz!

Very pleased with my result for a non-American. 2 of the ones I got, I knew from music: Asbury Park from Bruce Springsteen and Allentown from Billy Joel. I had a friend who lived and worked in Paducah, and I know a lot of people who worked for GE in Schenectady. Waco and Wasilla I knew from the news; Biloxi, Toledo, Mobile, Hilo are well-known enough that I know where they are. International Falls I could get by a process of elimination. All in all I was able to get 24.

I've been to a few of these cities! Recently I was near/in Kill Devil Hills for vacation. Another place that I've been to on vacation is Gatlinburg. I've been to Mobile while visiting family. Then I've also been to Allentown, Bethesda, Morgantown, and Roanoke.

I went through the first time by just guessing. Got about 30. Next time, I put in the ones I knew, then Ctrl+C a state I hadn't gotten yet... then furious mashed Ctrl+V then up 29 times in a row until I got the answer. There's about exactly enough time to get them all if you know half of them and can quickly mash copy/paste. :)
