A quibble about the phrasing of "Which former Soviet country has a name starting with E?" Estonia was not a country while under Soviet rule; it was a Republic of the Soviet Union. The question should read either "Which former Soviet Republic..." or "Which country formerly under Soviet rule..." to be precise.

Estonia is a country. Formerly, it was Soviet. The question is accurate.
+6
Level 67
Aug 18, 2021
No, it isn't, because it isn't a former Soviet country. I think the question is pretty clear and doesn't need to be changed, but JWC's point is accurate from a grammatical standpoint.

Level 60

The issue is based on whether you view the phrase as "|former Soviet| country" or "former |Soviet country|." You're reading as the latter, I'm reading it as the former.

i think an intermediary stage for the red giant is a planetary nebula so maybe add as a type in?
+2
Level 76
Aug 23, 2022
A planetary nebula is something created by a red giant's expansion, but it wouldn't be right to say that the red giant becomes a planetary nebula.

Can we add 'net', which is the actual transliteration, for Russian 'no'? Also I'd suggest 'njet' and 'niet' as type-ins also.
+1
Level 78
Aug 18, 2021
'Njet' doesn't make much sense in English since j isn't pronounced the same as i/y.
+1
Level 70
Nov 27, 2022
j is pronounced the same as i/y in many slavic languages, so they take that principle and apply this to an english transliteration.

He did score 86 though, and he's the only guy to get that high, so technically the question isn't wrong.

The last question has an error. Typed in “Electric kettle”, which a rock climber certainly does not use during a free solo, and didn’t get it right!
