As someone who raised turkeys for like seven years, I totally, missed wattle the first time. Technically, the wattle hangs from the throat. I kept getting to complicated and guessing caruncles.
The crop is where some birds store food before it goes to the gizzard to be ground up. It's a different organ so shouldn't be allowed as an alternate here.
Loved this quiz. I only missed three, I think this can be hard enough if you do it in your own language, so I am happy I only missed three. Wattle and carapace I had never heard of, and for flipper I had tried several things.. (fin dorsal fin, fluke which I remember from another quiz as the "tail" of whales) but seeing as (together with the before mentioned two) it is nearly the lowest, I am not the only one that had a hard time with that one. (while the answer is quite obvious)
Now I look at it again, I see wattle and it actually does ring a bell, but in my head it sounds like waddle ( but that is like how a duck walks isnt it?)
Ps I LOVE the word talon. I learned at a later age (hardly learned any new words after 12/14) and I ve loved it ever since :)
Spiders have carapaces too. Personally I've never heard anyone refer to a turtle's carapace as opposed to its shell. But we might swim in different circles :)
Also, talons mostly only apply to birds of prey in that they're grasping and sharp-clawed for hunting, definitely not the case with all bird feet.
