I was scrambling naming Chicago suburbs until I hit the right one.

Even most Chicagoans think that the second largest city in our state is Springfield, or at least Rockford.

Yeah, I guessed Rockford first, then Joliet, then I finally got there.

I only guessed Aurora because I have relatives living close to Aurora. I visit them a lot.

I tried Rockford (even though I thought it was well west of that dot) and Joliet before Aurora. Might not have pulled Aurora out without the alphabetical help after getting all the others. I'm just a dumb Hoosier to the east, though.

I'm a dumb Hoosier as well, but i can invade Illinois and just make all the suburbs have the name Chicago. also my friends say i have a southern accent because i say it like 'Chicogo' but my friends say 'Chicago' with the very long and weird sounding a.

I almost always guess Aurora before Chicago on every quiz. Must be because of Wayne's World...

I wouldn't have gotten it except I had all the others and could then think only of suburbs before Baton Rouge alphabetically.

Wikipedia says the 2018 population estimate for Aurora put it under 200,000. Do you have something more current?
+7
Level 68
May 7, 2020
Not sure. Being 199,605 though, it's certainly close enough to 200k to be not excluded. That's 2018 too, in 2020 might be over 200k in actuality now. Overall just not worth resetting stats.

I typed Baton Rogue and got nothing, only to reveal it's probably capitalization or the space

Spaces and capitalisation don't matter on JetPunk! The issue is you spelled it Rogue not Rouge :)

"Baton Rogue" sounds like a pornographic French film.

Got all except Aurora. I have spent some time in Aurora on business, but I never would have guessed it is that big.
+1
Level 73
Jun 3, 2020
It's not that big either, it does not even have 200,000 people and considering the demographics in the area, it's very unlikely it will get over this milestone in the near future.

Gary is very well known but it's not even close (anymore) to being one of the biggest cities in Indiana. Very few cities have been hit as hard by the "Rust" as Gary.
