I think that due to an accidental permutation the language question asks the "reverse" of what was intended.

Which from clue did you get that impression?

Yeah, it asks, "which from" and it should ask, "from which." The object of the preposition should not precede said preposition.

Milwaukee could also be of Potawatomi or Ojibwe origin.

Perhaps from Potawatomi minwaking, Ojibwe ominowakiing (“gathering place (by the water)”), or an Algonquin word meaning for “the good land”.

"Algonquian" is not a language; it's a family of dozens of langauges spread over eastern and central North America. Potowatomi and Ojibwe are two Algonquian lanugages near Milwaukee, so those are likely candidates. Because the Algonquian languages are all related and share similar roots, it's probably impossible to tell which language the name came from unless there are historical records that state the source.

Algonquin, however, is an individual language (or dialect), the one the family is named after. However, it was spoken in Quebec, far from Milwaukee, so it's not a likely candidate.

Dan, is Milwaukee even really worth a featured quiz?

This quiz was probably featured because the Milwaukee Bucks just won the NBA finals.

Minus one for not including that Milwaukee is the only city to elect two socialist mayors, or that it is Algonquin for "the good land."

I suspected going into this that I knew very little about Milwaukee. I have been confirmed in that suspicion.
