Johnny Tremain and Dorian Gray = two of the best books ever written. Sophie's Choice was real drudgery, though.

I was thinking of Ritchie Blackmore and not Richard Blackmore. Looks like I either need to brush up on my reading, or stick to music.

Gulliver was his surname, not his first name. His first name was Lemuel.

I started to make the same argument about Tiffany's, which is the surname of Lewis Tiffany who started the jewelry store where Holly Golightly window shopped while having her morning coffee and Danish, but then I reread the caveat. It does not say the name in the title is used as a first name in the book, but rather is merely a first name. There are people whose first names are Gulliver and Tiffany, so both of those clues fit within the parameters of the quiz.

Seems inappropriate somehow to accept "Ann" for the famous "Anne with an 'E'"

Agreed, although I did have to read it with a glossary specific to that book I found on the internet.

Pippi is not an actual name in Swedish. Is it in some other language?

Her original Swedish name is Pippi Langstrump, so it's not the 'Pippi' that's the translation issue.

fun quiz, but worth noting---Gulliver isn't actually a first name; the name is Lemuel Gulliver
