surprisingly no Joe Montana here. He and Brady are just products of genius coaches. Put Brady on the Jaguars, he wouldn't even make the playoffs.

Can you even name the WRs that were on the SB winning teams Brady was on? I doubt you can get 5 without looking it up.
+2

i could get five because im an avid pats fan Edelman, randy moss, danny amendola, troy brown, and david patten

I'm sure you knew this, but he didn't win with Moss.

Level 84

You can refer to the first comment here. A quiz like this is skewed heavily toward recent pass-heavy offenses. Russell Wilson won the Super Bowl last year, but he doesn't have to rack up 4000 yards to do so.
+1
Level 84
Oct 23, 2017
It's the rule changes that have been made that led to the pass-happy offenses, which have led to the inflated passing stats. You used to be able to destroy QBs anywhere/anytime and mug WRs all the way down the field. (which is why a QB like Johnny Unitas doesn't get the credit he deserves)
+3
Level 84

It puts Tarkenton's record in a new light, doesn't it? He racked up yards unlike anyone before him.
+4
Level 75
Sep 10, 2016
No Brady fan here, but that comment is just ridiculous. These two (and Peyton) were the last guys you'd want facing your team with the ball on their own 10 and 2 minutes left.

It really didn't. Belichick has been nothing without Brady, and Brady won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay.

Color me surprised.

I always thought the coach mattered more, but maybe Brady was doing a lot of coaching himself.

Drew Brees very underrated, He is one of those greats that never gets attention because his team fails him and he plays with Manning and Brady. He has the 2nd most 4,000 yard seasons and most 5,000 yard seasons.
+2
Level 86
Aug 3, 2018
Brees has generally been considered a Top 5 QB pretty much every year for the past 10-12 years. He's an 11-time pro bowler, 2-time offensive player of the year, and a Super Bowl MVP. It's true he's never won a regular season MVP, and yeah, that's largely the fault of playing at the same time as guys like Brady, Manning, and Rodgers, but I wouldn't call that "very underrated." He'll be a HoFer on the first try, same as the rest of those guys.
+1
Level 67
Oct 13, 2020
Yeah, Brees is great, but I don't know where you get the idea that he's underrated. He gets a ton of praise, and is always mentioned alongside Rodgers and Roethlisberger as the guys were a step behind (and occasionally equal to) Peyton and Brady.

One must behold the sight of Famous Jameis. He became just the 8th person to pass for more than 5,000 yards, despite his clear intentions of opening a "Famous Jameis Sweet Turnovers" branch wherever he goes.

His 2019 season is just preposterous. It produced so many weird factoids. He's got to be the only guy to throw for 5,000 yards and then be a backup the next season.
