I'm suprised that Galveston isn't on here. I'm not from Texas, but considering how often you hear about it you would think it'd be one of the biggest cities in the state.

Yeah, it's relatively small. Less than 50k.

The only time Galveston is in the news is when a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico is threatening to make landfall along the Texas shore. At the turn of the 20th century, it was well on its way to being a major city though, but... a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico made landfall on the Texas shore. It actually was the deadliest natural disaster in US history.

When visiting family in Texas we sometimes go there to buy fresh shrimp. It's located on an island in the Houston metro area, so not much chance for it to grow a lot.

It was (is) a major port on a small island, also lending it's name to Galveston Bay. The massive, sprawling mainland port areas are outlying areas within the city limits of Houston.

Galveston is not really that populated the reason you hear about it so much is because it is touristy and is famous for the Galveston hurricane.

You can blame the Hurricane of 1900 for that.

All three of the ones I missed were from Dallas-Fort Worth metro. Given I've spent a grand total of one night in downtown Dallas, I was fairly pleased with getting as many as I did from the area. It is interesting how much that area dominates this quiz, given the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area is only slightly larger than the Houston metro area (according to citypopulation.de Houston-Woodlands-Sugarland is 6.7 million compared to Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington's 7.1 million).

It may be caused by the fact that, proper, Houston is nearly two times the size of Dallas. The Metroplex seems to be akin to Birmingham or Manchester (England), while the Houston urban area seems to be more like a metropole with one big core and a lot of way smaller suburbs that add up and more than double the population, like Paris, London, Milan, Seoul, Naples, Madrid, Colombo, Taipei, San Salvador...

Maybe I could have done better than 20/30 this time (got 23/30) last time, if it wasn't really early in the morning and I wasn't under the influence of Gabapentin and Melatonin and thinking about bodybuilder/realtor/entrepreneur hybrid types of men who are married and certainly hot enough to know better than to act the way that they do.
