Walden Pond was the inspiration for one of the most legendary poetic works of modern philosophy. It is far more influential than a mere PLACE.

Carlsbad Caverns is a national park in New Mexico, USA. It is on the border of Texas and New Mexico, close to Guadeloupe Mountains which is on the Texas side.

Exactly! I thought, "Well, I guess a rainforest isn't really a landform..." Then there was Great Barrier Reef, which is definitely not a landform. And I was upset.

I tried basin and rainforest - here (in UK) it would always be called the River Amazon rather than the Amazon River, so river didn't occur to me for some time even though it's the most obvious answer.

I was stationed in Bremerton for many years. Seen the sound a lot. Used to do dives around the Hood Canal Bridge. Also the movie Officer and Gentleman was filmed by the sound too in Port Townsend, WA.

And strictly speaking, a fault is not a landform. Geologic feature, sure.
+2
Level 75

It's odd that you select Kilimanjaro, a volcano, for the "mount" clue, and then expect the entry of volcano for a different answer.

Also, Biscayne is a bay as well as a key. Possibly a key that is not also something else would be a better clue.

+2
Level 75
Jul 18, 2019
Further research indicates that, despite the name, Biscayne is not a key. Rather, it is a barrier island, with a significantly different geological makeup than the keys. I would definitely pick a different answer for this one.

Far too US-centric
+1
Level 85
May 5, 2021
How US-centric should it be? And how US-centric would it have to be in order to be considered "slightly" too US-centric as opposed to "far" too much so?
+1
Level 63
Dec 31, 2022
Four of the least guessed five answers are places in the US. That would indicate the quiz is too US-centric for the average quiz taker.

Amazon River could also be Amazon Rainforest

Baffin island could also be Baffin Bay

Tibetan Plateau could also be Tibetan Empire

Iberian peninsula could also be Iberian union

It's landforms. Last time I checked an empire and a union aren't landforms. But the 1st 2 are potential alternatives
