Man, you'd've thought (you know, given the all-knowing aspect of this thing and all) that its writers would've known something about more than what was just common knowledge at the time. Guess not. If only there was a lesson in there somewhere about this...
+10
Level 65
Jan 18, 2019
The "writers" were inspired by God. They wrote what God gave them to write. Just because they wrote portions of the Bible, doesn't mean they are all-knowing. God is the only all-knowing being mentioned in the bible.
+8
Level 75
Jan 29, 2019
No, in the beginning man created god and so the only knowledge that god had was what man gave to him.

That is why there is no foreknowledge in the bible and claims that there is are bogus

+2

Not sure if this is a joke or not, but Darmstadtium was founded in 1994, and the Bible was written long before then.

I feel sorry for anyone who is so behind the times that they think pointing out the Bible is a work of fiction, something that has been well established for 2000 years now, is done to appear "edgy." (and then parrot some trendy, dareisay "edgy"-sounding, phrase to articulate this point of view)

"What can we do to appear hip to the kids today and sell them more 7-Up?"

"Why don't we quote David Hume? Tweens love David Hume!"

It is not. Try reading some book other than the Bible sometime, and you might know this. This observation was last edgy sometime around the late Bronze Age.

It just depends on the translation. I grew up with the King James version, so "brimstone" is what comes to mind for me, but plenty of other versions use "sulfur," especially the more modern ones.
