The Azerbaijani exclave doesn't exist(I won nitpick of the year)

They apparently actually did assimilate pretty well, leaving little Greek influence out there aside from ruins of old cities stemming from that era. Although, I've heard that some of the easternmost areas still have people living there that have Greek ancestry, confirmed from having their DNA tested.

Recommend you put a dot for micronation on Malta. It took me a while to even spot the missing part of the map... I kept looking for a yellow edge somewhere along the borders on the sides of the map thinking it was a sliver of a bigger country. Regardless, fun quiz and well done!

I go by JetPunk standards, which considers Crimea a part of Russia rather than Ukraine.

Wait a few months and it might change. But yeah Jetpunk consideres who actually controls AND claims an area.

Do they really though?

Plenty examples of "countries" that control and claim their territory but JetPunk doesn't consider sovereign e.g. Somaliland.

Will JetPunk now count the occupied territories of Ukraine as part of Russia following the sham referendums?

It infuriates me that Jetpunk insists that foreign occupied territories IE Crimea are a part of russia. Truly heinous.

The Bosporus Kingdom was (likely) the northernmost point. They never really went further than the westernmost points of the Mediterranean Sea as far as I'm aware.

To be overly pedantic, Gibraltar is not part of the UK. I recommend the Venn Diagram found here. Gibraltar is an Overseas Territory belonging to the Crown, to which the UK also belongs. So while the British Monarch is their head of state (as they are for countries like Australia, Canada, and (for now at least) the Bahamas) they are internally self-governing.

I will mention it again: This quiz, like all my other quizzes, follows JetPunk standards, which puts Crimea under Russia. I understand that the situation has been complicated even more than before with the annexations that happened earlier today, but right now I'd rather not try and modify my quizzes with the daily changing frontllines.

It's very disappointing to learn JP recognizes Crimea as part of Russia. You don't have to follow that lead -- you have a choice. Front lines might change daily, but it's pretty easy not to recognize any Ukrainian territory seized by Russia.

The Roman Empire was Greek if you the count the Aeneid as being historical, and if the Romans weren't Greek, then some of their kings (not emperors) were Etruscans (Etruscans possibly being of Greek Descent, along with lots of Romans)

(the Romans also occupied, for a short time, Ireland, Germany except the border land near Denmark, small parts of western Poland (other Vassals of the Romans include the area of modern-day Czechia, the Northern area of the Black Sea, parts of western Moldova, and most of Romania), the Expedition to Scotland ended in a short period of time where the entire eastern coast of and the counties of Perthshire and Argyll & Bute was occupied, the eastern part of the Red Sea was full of Roman Client States, and Jutland was a Client State of Rome. Northern areas of Sudan were occupied, along with a strip of coast leading to northern Eritrea. The entire Caucuses were also Occupied. They occupied parts of Southern Libya. Parthia was Occupied under a client in 116.

I don't think it's a good idea to off merely dubious claims of "Greek descent", especially if Etruscan origins are still debated to this very day.

I'm also not very sure how a single poem inspired by Greco-Roman culture would make an entire empire Greek. While it's true that the east became dominated by the Greek culture and language (eventually resulting in the Eastern Roman Empire undergoing a process of Hellenisation by the 6th century), the Roman Empire was inhabited and ruled by people that were essentially a melting pot of different cultures, so I don't really feel like it's right to include the western half as well.

Nonsense. JetPunk is based in Seattle. This has been standard procedure for the site ever since its annexation by Russia and while I don't agree with it personally, I prefer to go by JetPunk standards. It has also been stated before that quizmakers are free to portray the peninsula as either Russian or Ukrainian.
