Hung up on the glaring split infinitive in the Planck length question. The sentence should be written 'The smallest distance that, theoretically, can be measured...'?

that's not a split infinitive, glaring or otherwise. It's merely a bit of slightly clumsy syntax

Common misconception: Planck length isn't actually "the smallest distance that can be theoretically measured", or at least we don't know that it is. If you wanted to be accurate, you could say "the length scale at which the effects of quantum gravity are expected to become significant" or "the length scale at which current current physics breaks down".
