Nothing to with Gdansk, entirely different city.

Well they are right next to each other. But Gdynia was never called Danzig so it doesn't fit the clue.

They aren't, Sopot is in between :)

I meant "right next to" as an approximate indicator of the distance between the two, not as a synonym for touching... but if you insist on being pedantic look at a map, they do in fact border each other directly, while also bordering Sopot. Along the S6 you can drive immediately from one to the other without passing through any other municipality.

I don't think Istanbul really "straddles" Europe and Asia. It would have to reach from Western Europe to Eastern Asia, if it did. You could say it straddles the BORDER between Europe and Asia....

Actually, it would stretch from Eastern Europe to Western Asia, as that is where the two continents meet. The city is seperated by the Strait of Bosphorus, with one side on Asia and the other in Europe, so yes, it does straddle both continents.

So far as Europe and Asia are different continents, that is.

In English (and of course Polish) for sure. But in, for example, German it's still Danzig. Even today. So if Carry is German then that's probably what would come to mind for them.

Really enjoyed the quiz!

Gotta admit that I first thought of Salzburg, Stuttgart and Stockholm before Sydney... Which makes sense as they have famous opera houses as well, but unlike Sydney, I visited those houses myself!

Still a very cool quiz though :)
