It was nice but I was just in Varna and Golden Sands and only for a short while. I decided to leave for Romania. Maybe I'll come back later, though.

Spent another couple weeks in Sofia a couple months ago. And.. I parked my car there so I have to go back and get it, probably in January I'll be back.

How many cars do you own?? And are they scattered throughout many countries?

Jack: currently 0. Though I still sometimes talk about "my car" as, even though it was stolen by corrupt Serbians several years ago, I still think of it as spiritually my car. I drove a '99 Dodge Viper RT/10 for over 13 years all over the world. I've only ever owned 4 cars in my life, and the other 3 were all before I turned 23.

... this time I aced it. Either the quiz got easier or the last couple trips to Bulgaria something finally stuck.

I got 13, which is hilarious because I seem to barely get enough questions right to get the badge credits. I officially have 99/198 quizzes done for this badge, and I'm done with every other badge. Halfway there!

Fun quiz. I like these country quizzes, you learn so much about individual countries. Really interesting.

Nice quiz. I only stumbled on the last two but got them after thinking for a second. At first I thought you were looking for an English name for rakia and was racking my brain to figure it out. It turned out much easier than that. :) And I'm very happy to see the LB question here. It's time people learn, that yogurt is not originally Greek.

Yeah, I don't think it's s good question. The hint is misleading - according to WP Rakia is a type of fruit brandy. I would say varieties of alcohol are not drinks like brandy, beer, wine, etc but more like ethanol, methanol, etc

Brandy is allowed.

I tried vodka first and then alcohol. I'm not an alcohol fan at all personally but some varieties of rakia I had in Sofia I guess were okay. I also liked the rakia-flavored turkish delight that I got at the airport in Cyprus.

Rakia is something you can't not love :P

I'll have to try that Turkish delight, though!

Would it be possible for 'Thracia' also to be accepted as the ancient region?

I tried spelling that in so many ways, I thought I was going crazy, especially after living in Bulgaria for two years. Wikipedia lists "Thrace" as an alternate spelling of "Thracia", so...

you pronounce it "trakia" and it has nothing to do with Rakia that i drank

Beautiful day here, but a little sad. I just bid farewell to our two yearling bulls who are headed to other farms where all the "ladies" aren't related to them. I know I shouldn't get attached to them but it's hard not to. Other than that, typical day - canned some tomatoes, got a haircut, pulled weeds in the flower beds, ate a mess of greens from the garden - a fine, autumn day.

I totally allow this questions, except the one for the Cyrillic alphabet, because the man that wrote was Macedonian, and he wrote it in Macedonia, not Bulgaria. So if possible correct that question.
