The coolest countries often incorporate red white and blue... you got.. Thailand, Russia, Japan (sans blue), Korea, France, Greece, Canada (sans blue), the USA, Netherlands, UK, Switzerland (also missing blue), Australia, etc...

One of the original concepts for Canada's flag was the same as it currently is, but the two side bands were blue. We decided against that simply because so many flags already contained red, white and blue.

South Korea has black as well though. All the rest of the countries had no other colours. Australia may be cool in many ways but not many of them are ways in which North Korea is also cool.

Chip, you are more right than you know. Nearly all of the countries (144) have white on the flag, so yeah... Only red is more popular (155). Blue is third, if you count light (44) and dark (68) blue, otherwise it's yellow (102).

Fun fact,there's actually a reason why the flag of Cyprus has this scheme of colours than the traditional red,white and blue pattern.During the process of the country's independence,the officials chose not to put blue and red colours on the flag so that all Cypriots wouldn't feel connected with the colours of Greece and Turkey likewise,despite the strong feelings of love the Greek and Turkish Cypriots held for their respective mother countries.That being said,the chose white as it's neutral and symbolises peace.

Nah. Helps you learn them. For instance, I didn't know that Afghanistan had changed their flag, but I was able to guess it because it was the country that most recently had a regime change. I appreciate that the quiz informed me of the change, and now I'll recognize it when I see it in the future.

Afghanistan changed its flag 4 times during the 21st century.

The current one is less than 20% white. Look it up.

It does look like ~90% to me

If you divide the flag into a 3 by 3 grid, you will see that the leaves and cyprus itself would fill roughly 1 grid, which is 1/9 (or roughly 11%) of the whole flag

I find it interesting how quickly the Afghanistan flag got changed to an internationally not recognized one, but Palestine still isn't a Jetpunk country. I'm usually staying out of that discussion, but I feel like this change will invalidate some arguments against Palestine.

If Jetpunk adapted to the Taliban flag, it means that the site is basing off of de facto situations rather than international recognition. Palestine is recognized by a lot of countries, but does it really have control over its own territory?

Two months after the Taliban takeover? Not really that quick now, is it? It's the de facto flag of Afghanistan and a much better representation of the country at this moment in time considering the former government controls basically no territory at all at this point.

Palestine on the other hand has little to no control over its territory despite its international recognition by over 100 countries. Taiwan, Kosovo and the Russian annexation of Crimea might be recognized by less countries, but it's the situation at hand and those are de facto lines of control.

It is however the official flag of the de facto government of Afghanistan. Doesn't matter if it's the one recognized by the UN or not. JetPunk is in no way obligated to go by those standards.

Wikipedia says Afghanistan's flag is currently a matter of contention. It points out that the Black/Red/Green flag used until now was used at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, after the fall of Kabul.

Since now Afghanistan changed its flag, it's now second place with the most percentage of white. But, Cyprus blocked Afghanistan's way because Afghanistan's flag is a white background with the shahada in black that almost covers the white. That's why Cyprus is 1st place.
