Only if you guessed Ecuador. The Galapagos are clearly in their own square so there's no reason that square should go green unless you actually give Ecuador as an answer.
Great idea for a quiz! Should France count for the square containing Mauritius, or not? Currently it's listed as one of the answers, but doesn't actually light it up. I'n the case of France I'm not really sure where the line between overseas regions and overseas territories is drawn, but it seems like Réunion has a better claim to be included than New Caledonia does.
It was before featuring! It looks like QM set all typeins to Auto without realising I had a special custom one for France in that square. All fixed now :)
Well Puerto Rico isn't classified as an overseas territory, its called an unincorporated territory which basically means that it is governed by the US government but its separate from the main land
Thanks, not sure why that was in there. I have removed New Caledonia and added Mayotte to be consistent, meaning only overseas regions are accepted now.
Same here. I was looking all over the map for a square that wasn't colored - didn't think about Oceania crossing over to the western side of the map - saw it just before time ran out.
The colour difference between guessed and not guessed could be more clear. Especially squares with a lot of water are not clearly visible. And there is a square with a small part of Gabon in it that should be nr 125.
Portugal should indeed be in the square left of Iberia (Greater Lisbon and Azores). Both Spain and Portugal should work for the square SW of Iberia due to Madeira and the Canaries. The islands aren't visible on the map, but they're still there.
Also, if overseas territories aren't counted - why does the Antilles trigger for USA? Neither Puerto Rico nor USVI are states.
The square with Gabon only, should also find UK (great britain) acceptable, since St. Helena, Ascencion and Tristan de Cunha (british oversea dependencies) fall within that area.
And it would only be consistent since for the square that contains Mauritus and Reunion, France is also a correct answer. And same for Falklands (UK), Argentina and Chile further south.
As clearly stated in the description, only land visible on the map is included. St. Helena, Ascension and Tristan de Cunha are not visible on the map and so are not included. To include those not visible on the map would be inconsistent.
Crimea has always been part of Russia on the JetPunk map, years before the war this year. The quiz was not updated for this purpose, it was updated to use a more recent version of JetPunk's standard map, as well as fixing some incorrect squares in the original version.
Also, if overseas territories aren't counted - why does the Antilles trigger for USA? Neither Puerto Rico nor USVI are states.
5-2 (Kiribati)
4-2 (Also Kiribati)
8-8 (Portugal)
4-9 (Gabon)
5-12 (Somalia)
2-11 (South Africa)
8-17 (Russia)
And it would only be consistent since for the square that contains Mauritus and Reunion, France is also a correct answer. And same for Falklands (UK), Argentina and Chile further south.
