I'd add a couple of variations on Run DMC. Punctuation shouldn't be necessary.

punctuation is never observed on all Jetpunk quizzes. RunDMC should work as well as "Run?-D.M!C"

That happens when the band is in a plane crash

Clearly this also means "didn't realize half the band died in a plane crash." I looked it up and was surprised that more of them lived than died.

Wilkeson, Collins, and Powell didn't die in the crash

Of the core members, only Ronnie Van Zant and Steve Gaines died in the plane crash. The crash also killed Gaines sister Cassie, who was a backup singer. All the others have died in the years (38, as of the date of this comment) since then.

Also didn't realize there was an Ian Stewart in the Rolling Stones. Went to high school with a guy by that name. Also had a kid in my 6th grade class named Axel Rose. Not kidding.

He was the first to join Brian Jones and was a keyboardist in the early years but was dropped from the band since he "didn't fit their image". There were a few others who were briefly part of the band before the well-known 60s lineup of Jagger, Richards, Jones, Watts, Wyman was solidified. Stewart still played with them and helped out as road manager and other duties for a couple of decades before his death. Kinda got the shaft but apparently was content to play a key role without being a formal member of the band.

Yes, and he also played with Led Zeppelin on a couple of tracks (he's the Stu in Boogie with Stu). Died too young, RIP.

Good variety. I'm not going to say "what about ???" but a few other ideas would be Jerry Garcia, Clarence Clemons, Phil Everly, Rob Pilatus, Lou Reed/Sterling Morrison, Paul Hester, Michael Hutchence, Cass Elliot...

Rob Pilatus! Does he count if he just lip synched? :-)

Layne Staley (Alice in Chains), Ronnie James Dio (Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio), Randy Rhoads (Ozzy Osbourne), Tom Petty (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers), Gidget Gein (Marilyn Manson), Michael Jackson (better known as a solo artist, but since he was in the Jackson 5 it counts), Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan (Avenged Sevenfold), Bradley Nowell (Sublime), the list goes on...

Agree that Grateful Dead would be a sensible choice for a dead band members quiz, which would include not only Jerry Garcia, but virtually all the guys who played keys through the years: Ron Pigpen McKernon, Keith Godchaux, Brent Mydland, and Vince Welnick. Robert Hunter was also a non-performing member who wrote the lyrics to a majority of the classic Jerry ballads/tunes. Phil Lesh still hanging with us at 81 and a liver transplant recipient. And Bob, Bill, and Mickey still touring with Dead and Company.

Needs an update. Sadly Dimebag Darrells Brother Vinnie Paul Abbott died last year so that makes two members of Pantera gone :( And of course it's almost 2 years now that Malcolm Young passed away...

Oldie but a goodie. God puts Adam under in the Garden of Eden and removes one of his ribs to create Eve. When Adam awakens, God says, "Behold, Adam! I have created a woman, Eve. She will be your helpmate."

Adam replies, "That's cool. But who's the geezer in the shades, smoking a Camel?"

God says, "That's Keith Richards. He was here when I got here."
