Interesting blog article: https://grumpygeophysicist.wordpress.com/2017/10/02/monolithic-logic/

Excerpt: "Just as the term monolith has no really geologic meaning, it seems it has little objective basis."

Eswatini gained partial self-determination in 1906, but was still mostly ruled by the British. It didn't become truly independent until 1968.

Before 1922 Sobhuza II did not officialy reign over eSwatini. This makes it only 61 years of reign. Louis XIV officialy reigned for 72 years making it longer than Sobhuza's reign.

Seriously, can you imagine being married to 125 women? I can't even imagine myself being married to just one.

The monolith question accepted "rock" as an answer, but not "stone." Any reason for the distinction? Also, was I the only person who tried something else for what King Sobhuza II had the longest of? Or am I just really immature?

A true king knows it is not the length of his reign that matters, but how well he uses it.

I'm just imagining how you would know he had the longest. Did the UN secretary-general send out a letter to all the kings? "I need to measure your ding-dong. Meet me tomorrow behind the Denny's. I'm bringing the measuring tape"

I'm now remembering that one short story by someone, can't remember the name for some reason, the African Veld. I've read so many short stories he wrote and just can't remember the name.

I read “The Veldt”, by Ray Bradbury, at school school a couple years ago. It’s about a room that can show to anyone’s desires or wishes on the walls. In the story, the children become overly attached to the room, specifically in transforming it into an African savanna with lions, and the parents decide to try to get rid of the room, but instead, the children make the lions in the room kill their parents. It’s supposed to teach about the dangers of over-reliance on technology. I wonder what Ray Bradbury would say if he could see us now. But anyway, that’s how I got the answer to that question.
