"Eyjafjallajokull" is missing the diacritics!

That's why I missed it, I only know it with the diacritics!

In nobody's world is the Mount of Olives a "mountain."

In the world of the ancient Israelites it was.

I think part of Ararat extends into Armenia?

It towers over Yerevan but is completely on the Turkish side of the border.

Ararat is entirely in Armenia.

Ararat is actually closer to Iran than Armenia, but it doesn't cross the border of either

They might not be particularly tall, but the UK has plenty of mountains that still need plenty of respect. You don't want to be stuck on the side of a Scottish mountain in the middle of winter!

If Aoraki is a hint, Aotearoa should work as an answer ;)

But Aoraki is an alternative name of the mountain in English, but the English name of the country is just 'New Zealand'.

Many bodies use Aotearoa instead of New Zealand. It should be accepted as an alternative name on JetPunk IMO.

Can you not accept the "proper" names of countries rather than only their anglicised versions - e.g. accept Italia for Italy?
+3
Level 59
Jan 12, 2020
No, because this is a quiz in english, and almost no one calls it Italia in English. Like seriously, If you're the only one if like 100,000 who says it, is it too hard to just learn them the common way to say their names?

Isn't Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia?
+1
Level 89
Jan 12, 2020
The Sinai peninsula is considered part of Egypt so, no it is not in Saudi Arabia.
+1
Level 68
Jan 12, 2020
Constantine's mother decided in the 4th Century that it was on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula and tradition picked up the narrative. However, the Apostle Paul said it was in Arabia (Gal. 4). Furthermore, Moses fled to Jethro in Midian, and God promised him that he would bring him back to a mountain near there with the children of Israel (Exo. 3). Midian is near modern Medina, Saudi Arabia. Some recent research by guys like Ron Wyatt and Bob Cornuke strongly indicates that Jabal al-Lawz in Saudi Arabia is the real Mt. Sinai.
+1
Level 82
Jan 12, 2020
"Arabia" to Romans and Hebrews was the desert area inhabited by bedouins beyond the borders of what they considered civilization. It is not the same thing as Saudi Arabia, though they overlap. Finding the real mountains or other geographic features that pertain to Biblical mythology (assuming that there even are any) is notoriously difficult and there's rarely good evidence to support any of the many competing claims.

Denail is not equal to Denali

Quick maths!

+1
Level 27
Dec 20, 2020
Mathematically, both are equal.

This is an example of some variable's multiplication.

D*e*n*a*l*i =Denali

However, since the commutative law exists that allows you to swap summands in addition and factors in multiplication, respectively,

D*e*n*a*i*l =D*e*n*a*l*i=Denali=Denail
