I'll see what I can do about every African country, it's work in progress and I have added several in the past couple of days. As for every country, there are others who have added Country Quizes from other parts of the world, in fact it was from them that I got the idea.

I have $10 billion Zimbabwe dollars. The value of the paper might be worth more than the note was worth when it became void.

Probably! The $100 trillion notes are going for 70 USD on Ebay. I was thinking about buying one. It's kind of a fun collectors item.

The quizmaster is right in this. The Constitution of India has an official language (Hindi) a co-official language (English). The other 23 languages (or whatever they are up to) are schedule 8 of the Constitution. I'll be happy to explain further if you want, but I'd prefer not to bore you.

I tried every type of bird I could think of, and finally in desperation, typed "Bird". Imagine my shock when that was right!

Yes. How unimaginative can you get. I was looking at the flag, going "what is that thing?" I even typed in sphinx. But no. Bird. Duh.

I even have a statue of this on my bookshelf that a friend brought me from Zimbabwe, and I always assumed it was a fish eagle. Never occurred to me to try "bird".

There is a debate what bird it is, but fish eagle seems to be a common guess.

It's true same is happening now in South Africa.

Level 75

It's not true in either case. You might be confusing (any of the acceptable definitions of) genocide with uneven forms of discrimination that generally allow White minorities to keep the preponderance of economic power while partially disabling their political power - both built up during decades (Zimbabwe) or centuries (South Africa) of brutal, racist, colonial rule. Common mistake.

Ah yes because setting a little girl on fire and than brutally raping a farmers wife and than killing the farmer just because of their racial identity isn't a form of genocide.

For the banknote one I tried a few words like million, billion, then just typed "1" and kept adding zeroes... It took longer than I expected to get it, crikey.

Doesn't Namibia share a teny tiny border with Zimbabwe?
+1
Level 65
Feb 13, 2022
unfortunately not. There is a border of a few (hundred) meters between Botswana and Zambia that stops them from being connected. It is quite close to being one of the only places in the world where 4 countries share a border.

I kinda wish the British (ok and the Germans I guess) didn't make the borders as the were, maybe we'd have a four corners of Africa.

The Germans wanted the Caprivi strip in order to be able to go down the Zambezi, so that they would have a route to German East Africa (Tanzania)....unfortunately they didn't know about the Victoria Falls
