Tango originated in both Uruguay and Argentina.

However, most of the people would associate it with Argentina. I don't think this answer would be guessed more often if i added "Uruguay" into the clue.

I agree It doesn't need to be added by name, just pointing it out.

Foot because its played with your FEET mainly. BALL -spherical object or entity- is because its played with one. Soccer means nothing. American hand-egg is a nice game btw

Sorry, but aren't most varieties of football played with an ovoid rather than a spheroid? Rugby Union Football, American Football, Rugby League Football ........

There is nothing more tiresome than this debate. The only wrong opinion is to care strongly about it. It literally does not matter. Can't we talk about which continent Cyprus is in instead?

I don’t know if you actually want that to happen though, it could get pretty bad

Excuse me Cyprus is DEFINITELY in that place where you don't think it is. I know because I went there yesterday to see the Cyprus-Rules Football final (the ball is shaped like fifteen people arguing)

Does the quiz also accept Las Malvinas for the Falkland Islands? Since it's an Argentina quiz it should accept the Argentine name.
+12
Level 34

To the people who live there they are the Falkland Islands, that's what counts.

Good quiz, 14/22.

You mean the people the British settled there, by stealing land as they have done around the world? Sure.
+10
Level 69
Jan 7, 2022
@BlackJohn

The British have stolen a LOT of land in their time.

The falklands are not in that category. There was no one to steal them from... they never belonged to Argentina

+4
Level 57

Even if "stolen land" was a useful concept how does that differentiate between the Falklands and Argentina itself? Look again at the official language.

Peron had 3 wives, 2 of whom were political, Eva (Evita) (his 2nd) and Maria Estela (lsabelita) his 3rd. Eva is the most famous wife, but lsabelita was his VP and became president after Peron's death

Messi has already won his fifth Golden Ball, by now. Also, this being a test about Argentina, I think Maldives should be accepted for the Falklands.

Maldives is an island group in Asia. You surely meant "Malvinas", didn't you?

Argentina's territorial claims might seem outlandish to some, but I feel even Galtieri wouldn't have been so bold as to claim the Maldives.

I would recommend accepting Castilian as the language.
+6
Level 71
Oct 4, 2019
Castillian is not the same language as spanish though. Castillian is a regional dialect/arguable language spoken in Castille.
+2
Level 80

I think that may have been an autocorrection of castellano.
+3
Level 67
Aug 2, 2020
I spent some time in Argentina, and everyone with whom I came in contact called it "castellano."
+4
Level 64
Aug 3, 2020
In English, "Castilian" can refer either to Spanish as a whole or to the dialect of Spanish spoken in Castile. But in Argentina, the former is the case; they call their language "castellano."
+4
Level 76
Aug 15, 2020
To clarify, what is globally known as "spanish" is the castillian language (not a dialect, although it has itself different dialects). It's the official national language, (while the regional languages -again, not dialects- are co-official only in their respective regions), which is why it's often just called "spanish" for simplicity. Just like mandarin is commonly called "chinese ". Doesn't mean either use is right, though. Castillian is actually a more precise and accurate term, seing as it's not the only spanish language.

Level 82

I would not say Pampa os north. It is really in the middle oficina the territory.

Also, Patagonia is not enterely semiarid, actually the chilean part is a bit humid, can be a bit confusing because the arid shared región is the central andes...
