Yes, that's a result of the 'pop-up' element to the design of the quiz. Each correct answer triggers the next pop-up clue. So, as an example, AILM is beside Bern in the answer stats because answering Bern correctly triggers the clue for Lima.
At the risk of courting controversy, Jerusalem isn't a capital city. Israel claims it as its capital, but that claim isn't recognised by a single country and not a single country has its embassy in Jerusalem.
on that note, i had an israeli teacher that was convinced that the hague WAS the capital of the netherlands. i told her i was born there, i know my capital, and she said that me being born there doesn't mean it's the capital.
Oh. Is that because, while The Netherlands has chosen The Hague as it's national capital, countries that are not the Netherlands refuse to acknowledge that The Hague is the capital of the Netherlands? If the above is true, then you just made an excellent point!
So by that logic the location of the capital city is decided by other countries? So if every other country in the world decided that Bakersfield is the capital of the USA then that would mean that it's not Washington DC anymore? As long as Israel claims Jerusalem as its capital (which you agree it does), then Jerusalem is the capital.
Or, to put it a more analogous way - if Djibouti claimed that Washington DC was its capital, would that mean that the capital of Djibouti was Washington DC?
I have a good idea........., how about everyone can individually decide what the capital of a country is (no matter what that country decides) that way we can all get the capitals of the world quiz right every time.
kleiner I think that's the point he was trying to make. The reason some other countries don't recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is that they dispute that Jerusalem is Israeli territory. The rest just don't want to piss off the former countries by their offensive acceptance of reality.
Ahhh, I was so close! I only had 3 scrambles to finish, but turns out it wouldn't have mattered because I've never heard of Windhoek in my entire life. Never would've gotten that!
Irish41 ....... you have a jetpunk score of 63, and you have never heard of Windhoek in your entire life!...... have you not been doing Capital City quizzes in your entire jetpunk life?
I am not usually susceptible to conspiracy theories, but there seems to be one among quizmakers to convince us all that Jerusalem is the capital, presumably of Israel.
Hi kiwirage love the format on your quiz and all of your quizzes are really great and come check my quizzes please even though I only have two. I am also doing this thing where the top five recommendation and feedback comments are posted in the description of my quizzes if your comment appears most on the list you get shoutouts and a special quiz dedicated to you
I was flying through the quiz, but then I got stuck on one, stared at it for three minutes, then time ran out and I found out it was my own country's capital.
I was missing one letter when I got it, but I was stuck on the last two scrambled capitals so I worked on the secret one instead. (Never did get those last two before time ran out.)
I got all but accra, never heard of it. But this has been the best quiz i ve done on this site so far imo ! You really had to think, but it didnt have impossible answers which you would only know if you would live there. Usually quizes are too easy ( you get all in one go, besides the ones you never heard of) or too hard. But in this case, after a few that I got immediately, slowly but steadily, every now and then I got antoher one and made a little progress. I was so happy I got the secret city :)
Really, the other quizes for me were either boiled down to knowlegde, or speed (ok sometimes annoyance, but that would mainly be after reading all the arguments in the comments ;) ) but this one was actually fun to do. :) :) 10 stars!
I like both, but in either case I like a challenge :) (and not so much a speedtest)
And man, weird how things change in a short time, I now can't even remember that I didn't know accra haha. With more things I ve learned on this site, sometimes I think I have known something all my life and then I read an old comment where I say something is new to me haha.
Man you really did manage to pick a tough scrambled secret city, I had over 4:30 minutes left to get that one... I gave up when it hit 1:11, I could not see it (and funny it contains "know hide" )
And this comment comes without even a suspicion of irony. What is ironic is that the setter is a Kiwi. Nice puzzle/quiz Kiwirage. If there were a thumbs up emoji, I'd use it.
Also, the seat of government is in Jerusalem. Whether it's recognized to be there or not.
And while we're at it, I claim F*cking to be the capital of Austria.

What hasn't changed is me liking this quiz(type)
