It still has a few goodies to sort the wheat from the chaff! Also accept Lvov?

You could accept Limassol, it's close enough to the Cyprus spot... Btw, I think it's a much better known city than Larnaca.

Limassol is the 2nd largest urban area in the country after Nicosia (locally known as Lefkosia or Lefkosha).

Limassol has gained no traction? It's right on the spot on the map, is Cyprus's #2 city and is politically important due to a sovereign U.K. base on an island nation in a proxy battle between Greece and Turkey, both NATO members.

The northern China one almost got me, was trying alternate spellings of Linxia and Longnan. Facepalmed when I realized I was thinking too hard.

The type-in does not work for the one located on Cyprus. No alternative spellings seem to work either. Please fix.

Limassol should be accepted. Second largest city in Cyprus, and I think much more well known than Larnaca.

Some of them are also very ambiguous, and too close to other major cities beginning with L - e.g. Liverpool and Leeds.

If you zoom in it is quite clear which city is the answer for both Larnaca and Leeds.

@relessness. I agree on Leeds, but not so much on Lamaca. Limassol. The spot definitely covers both cities.

I don't think so. Larnaca is the oldest city in Cyprus. It's also home to the country's only major airport, and some popular beaches. Limassol is larger, and also where the major seaport of the south is, but I don't think it's "much more well known" than Larnaca.

I don't know. I know the existence of Limassol for twenty years, and this quiz was the first time I ever saw the word "Larnaca". More significantly, the wikipedia page for Limassol is much longer (at least in English and in French).

I stayed in Larnaka, and it seems more well-known that Limassol. It was during a heatwave and felt like hell-on-earth.

Ljubljana doesn't start with an L. In Slovenian, and in other Yugoslav languages, "lj" is its own letter.

But in English, "Lj" is an L and a J.

And when you can put it as one character maybe it can change. Signed, Icelandic and bitter about Ð and Þ being relegated to D and P.

Actually, Slovenian alphabet contains only 25 letters. They don't have "ć", "dž", "đ", "lj" or "nj".

I kept guessing Liverpool for that city in England, never would've thought it was Leeds.

Seeing as Liverpool is famous as a port city, the fact that the dot it quite far inland should prove that it isn't Liverpool.
