It's actually far worse than that. They don't just kill the bears and get the bile. They keep the bears alive in tiny cages and attached to equipment that continually harvests the bile. Apparently the process is brutal and the bears live in absolute torture day in and day out. There have been stories of bears committing suicide to escape the pain

I'd never heard of a sloth bear and had to look them up! They really are sort of built like a sloth and definitely give off a lazy-looking vibe, but the extra fur around their face is really pretty.

It is a common misconception that bears hibernate. They do not. They do go into a state commonly called torpor; their body temperature drops, but less than true hibernators, and they can wake up pretty quickly when needed. Most true hibernators are reptiles and insects, although I believe that the groundhog might be one of the few mammals considered a true hibernator.

In layman's terms, they absolutely do hibernate. The question is correct.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/hibernation

1. (biology) A state of inactivity and metabolic depression in animals during winter.

Actually for brown bears their body temperature does not drop. That means they can wake up very shortly during winter.

It is called winter resting then and it is not hibernation.

"What is the word for a place a bear lives?" This is such a vague question. I tried habitat, territory, range, etc. Maybe change the wording to reflect you are looking for the specific structure/enclosure that they live in instead. If the question had been "Where do bears hibernate" I would've gotten den for example. Just my 2 cents.

It's absolutely NOT true that salmon is the grizzly bear's "preferred" food during summer in coastal regions: when faced with elderberries and salmon coming into season at the same time, brown bears choose berries, ie, they PREFER them.

https://insideclimatenews.org/news/21082017/alaska-grizzly-bears-salmon-berries-climate-change-ecology-shift-study/

This shouldn't be surprising; most bear species lean towards herbivory, and brown bears, despite being among the more carnivorous species, are still around 60% herbivorous or more.
