Very nice quiz Stewart! But why isn’t “emos” working? :)

Wonder how often they update it. “Vape” is another newish word that isn’t there.

Great quiz! One day I’ll remember xyst…

xyst doesn't need to be remembered really as there are only three other letters available for a word starting with x anyway. :)

Well, the question is when they become publicly available. As with all my word quizzes it comes from TWL06 which is the 6th edition.

I was surprised when pogo was not accepted. They must update it every 50 years or so...

As for xyst, here it is not very hard to guess... The only possible letter for a word beginning with x are : s, t, x and y, which leaves you with two reasonable words to try : xyst and xyts ;).

Vaud is meant to work for " V U" but it doesn't.

Vaud is not a valid word

What I mean is that, after you finish the quiz, it shows you "vaud" for "V U" as an example among 5 possible words.

Thanks! This was a typo, meant to be Vaus

Ok, I didn't know. I think it's a stupid rule, there are amazing quizzes with more than 100 questions, while I can't hide my hate for "less than 10 questions" quizzes (and 19 questions too :p ).

So, well, you have my moral nomination for this...

I agree. It should be fewer than ten questions

Fantastic quiz, thanks a lot for making this!

One little remark: the word 'july' doesn't seem to be accepted.

+3

Sep 9, 2022
July is not a valid Scrabble word, since it comes from the name Julius

But in the answer stats it is given as a possible answer for J+L an J+Y

Ah! Sorry about that, the words listed at the end were found using a common words list, so it didn't necessarily match Scrabble. I fixed most of these beforehand, but it seems July was one I did not :)

I absolutely loved the first eight lines of this quiz, but then had to give up due to a display issue on my phone, the lines not being correctly aligned so you can't tell where you are in the grid. Inwonder how many other people are affected?

497, not bad being a non-native speaker, and it being 5:40 now ... had zero sleep yet...

Now I have to answer the ultimate question, do I stay awake, or will I try to fall asleep... knowing that my cat might wake me very soon. usually 6.30 though sometimes start at 6 and always before 7.30. And I usually take over an hour too fall asleep..

Anyway I shouldn't have started this at this hour, but.. I recently "rediscoverd" this site and finally got a laptop again. and was silly enough to leave it within reach...
