Knew Marseille from having been there and having read Count of Monte Cristo one too many times. Missed too many obvious cities though, like New York.

I would have never known Marseille if I didn't watch this years Tour de France.

I thought the same thing- except that I SHOULD have known it but didn't.

I only guessed it because I always have trouble with Marseille on the city skylines quiz. Got all the others pretty easily.

This is another great addition to the Satellite Image series. Hope to see several more. I would say that for 15 photos, 4 minutes may be necessary to give adequate time to really look closely at the non-obvious ones. 3 is a little bit short.

Blinking tough one that. I worked out five and got four more by pure luck from guessing cities.

Is it bad that I got both Naples and Manila because I am obsessed with volcanoes? I recognized Laguna Caldera for Manila, and for Naples, well, with three volcanoes in the picture (Vesuvius, Campi Flegrei and Ischia) it's kind of a no brainer. :P

It's a no-brainer if you're looking for volcanoes rather than city layouts

Not impossible. Could have used some more time, though. Probably never would have gotten Lagos or New Orleans unless I was randomly guessing.

The "San Francisco" image depicts about 100 cities, one of which is biggest than San Francisco.

100? Are you confusing the term "city" with the term "In n Out Burger?"

The bay area technically contains 101 municipalities, even though not all of them are shown, 100 isn't very far off.

also if the city you are referring to is San Jose, in addition to being a suburb of the greater San Francisco metro area, it also occupies about 1/50th of the photograph down in the extreme bottom-right corner.

Agreed that SF is about 10% of that photo. Oakland is shown in its entirety, and I think most of San Jose would disagree that it's a suburb of SF.

Agreed. San Francisco only makes up about 3% of the picture, also, the picture contains about 40 different cities (depending on you're definition) other than San Francisco.

I just saw a fact about Betelgeuse in Interesting Facts. It's wrong. It's actually about VY Canis Majoris, the largest star found yet.
