Oh, yes, and please also accept "ruffige" for "roughage" -- and "Richard Shaw" for "rickshaw".

That's the thing though--this site does accept ridiculous spellings like that all the time. This site accepts spellings that make me scratch my head sometimes, some that don't even phonetically make any sense.

So, yes, absolutely Ro should be accepted in this case.

Yes. It should since the "h" gets dropped off of answers on this site all the time. For instance, if you write Pittsburgh, you don't actually need to spell it correctly.

I got it right with "rho." Plenty of other exceptions have been made. Ro instead of Rho is tame compared to other exceptions. If the others are accepted, then Ro should be as well.

I kind of see what you're saying, but you wouldn't hear, "They are going to ruin the building." You'd hear, "They are going to raze the building."

Maybe it's just my bad hearing, but I've always heard an R (either in place of or directly after the L) in the English pronunciation of that morning bugle call. So none of my 7 or 8 spelling guesses would work, because I didn't think to remove the R.

It might be because your memory accidentally changes it to the slightly more common word "revelry," which you're more used to hearing.

Darn. I thought for a second that knowing the word riboflavin would for once in my life be useful. What is that? A vitamin? I found out that it's not a dietary fiber, apparently.

It's one of the B vitamins. You obviously didn't take seventh-grade home ec food classes at my school or you would never forget them. :)

haha. I actually *did* take Home Ec in 7th grade... but I don't remember learning about vitamins. I remember sewing a pillow, knitting, and cooking pizza, cakes, etc.

as a child and adolescent I'd go through that much in a couple of months sometimes... constantly drawing, doodling, writing stories, designing games... couldn't live without a pencil and some paper back then.

These days.... yeah... I'm probably also not on pace to use 500 sheets by the time I die.

I totally made up regicide :D I knew king was rex and things to do with killing end in -cide. I also got rappel by chance, it was my answer to the bugle question.. (well the word that came to me )

Ah this is where I got it from, so my mind didnt make up nonsense. Rappel is also for calling soldiers, but with a drum not a bugle

rappel (plural rappels)

(military) A drumbeat pattern for calling soldiers to gather.

I first tried 'rope' for how a climber descends. Rappel makes more sense but throwing this out there as a suggestion...
