oh man... Cuzco of course... I was thinking Mayan not Incan, and guessing some places around the Yucatan, though that would mean the dates are off by 600 years.

I did miss some obvious ones, but I'm mostly angry because of Ürümqi. In my language it's pronounced as Urumchi and I've never seen it written in English (or in the Latin alphabet, for that matter). Oh, well...

You could have included Xi'an as the capital of T'ang Dynasty China (although it was known as Chang'an then).

I was going to say this, too. It was only Kublai Khan's summer capital, but I guess it should count.

never seen that. In pinyin a q has a "ch" sound and an x has more or less a "sh" sound. I've never seen the two be interchangeable.

Technically the Qin Dynasty's capital was Xianyang, which is now integrated into the Xian metropolitan area, so in theory, that's an option.

Pasargadae predated Persepolis as the capital of the Achaemenid (Persian) Empire though it is likely the capital resided in Persepolis longer. Might want to choose a different option for 'P'

His schedule:

Minsk > Moscow > St Petersburg > Helsinki > Gdansk > Krakow > Prague > Vienna > Budapest, then he leaves Hungary and arrives in Belgrade. So I'm guessing he'll be there about September or October.

Finally, a geography quiz where being older helps. I learned Quezon City as the capital of The Philippines when I was in school, and of course as an American I knew about Saigon all too well. (And no, I wasn't around when New York City was the national capital, but I studied it in school, too.)
