They just discovered/made the seventh element in that column. It doesn't have a name yet, and I don't know enough to know if it too will be considered a noble gas.

I hope it will be added to this quiz and the Periodic Table quiz after it gets named.

evidently they are not including it officially since it has not been chemically proven to be inert and there is some debate as to whether it is

I couldn't remember the last element so I had to catch the bus to my school to sneak a peek at the periodic table hung on the chemistry lab wall. All in all good quiz.

The recently named element 118 Oganesson [Og] by the IUPAC should be added to the list in order to complete the current noble gas group. Many thanks! Cheers

Names not approved until later this year though, November I think.

Well it's definitely approved now, so it should be updated to include Oganesson.

Maybe, maybe not! According to Wikipedia under "Noble gases": Oganesson (Og) is predicted to be a noble gas as well, but its chemistry has not yet been investigated.

I just quote Wikipedia :

For example, although oganesson is a member of group 18 – the first synthetic element to be so – it may be significantly reactive, unlike all the other elements of that group (the noble gases).

I would have figured radon would be better-known than xenon and krypton, since it gets in the news as a residential basement pollutant sometimes.

Got my own quiz, also called Noble Gases. It has the last element, the one that is not on this quiz. You should update this one, or at least do to it what I did I to mine. Otherwise, this is a great quiz

It is very narrow-minded to assume that oganesson will turn out to be a noble gas - there's more to it than following a trend. I was at school with a boy called Luke. His elder brothers were Matthew and Mark. His younger brother? Timothy.
