Austrian pilot Roland Ratzenberger also died during the (1994) San Marino GP! Please at least accept him as an alternative answer… RIP

He actually died in Bologna, Italy during qualifying. So not technically San Marino

Senna also died in Bologna, Italy during the race. So not technically San Marino. the point is that it was called the San Marino GP, and they both died, so should both be accepted

I second this. Ratzenberger and Senna both died on the same circuit one day apart. He should be accepted too, unless the clue is changed to "Brazilian Formula One driver".

The clue is more specific now. Ratzenberger was accepted as a type-in, altough that hardly does him any justice.

please accept "Appennini" for "Apennines", it's the Italian word!

I got Senna (as a type-in presumably) when I started to write Sena-tor for a different question.

No, but Dan's son Stanley may have been. :-P

I got 'Castelli' when I tried 'castle' for the coat of arms question, and 'Senna' when I tried 'senator' for the Captains Regent question. 😁

I was really hoping to see Imola and the island of Rab (where the stonemason was from, after whom San Marino and also a beach on the island is named after) on this quiz.

There are also three mountains in the coat of arms, on which the citadels (hard enough to guess as you don't allow for 'castles') sit..

Well, "castle" is already an acceptable answer for the municipality question. And you're far more likely to notice three towers in the coat of arms than the mountains (which aren't even mountains, they're summits of the same mountain).

I feel like some of these small countries are so insignificant and obscure that their country quizzes are incredibly easy... but not this one.

San Marino isn't the only country in the world with more vehicles than humans, unless maybe bicycles aren't counted as vehicles.

Small suggestion, make Nazi Germany acceptable instead of just Germany. Not that it really matters, but confused me for about two seconds

The Ayrton Senna question seems a tad distasteful to me. His death has only a nominal connection to San Marino. Is there really not a less repugnant question you can find?

I do agree, actually. You can blame the QM who added that question.
