Maybe the Colorado Ski resort isn't as famous as you thought! It's the least-guessed answer so far.

Still, more than 50% guessed it.

I am not a skier, I don't even like winter, but Vail, Aspen and Breckinridge are fairly iconic. All the rich folks seem to congregate in those places. I thought it was a good question.

@Darkbull, there are three questions relating to North America on this quiz, I don't see how that makes it unmanageable to those in the rest of the world. The quiz maker obviously doesn't expect you to know every ski resort in the US, it just asks about one of the most famous; also, how do you know how many Alpine ski resorts they or anyone else can name? And if the V question is such a huge problem for you, how about suggesting an alternative answer for that letter? Jeez.

Vail is at 67%. In the sequel, Vaud is at 32%. The defense rests.

By the way, I use a tool that allows me to search Wikipedia by article prominence. So it's unlikely we are missing any well-known V answers. This is why no one can think of a better one.

Not meaning to restart this argument, but as a Non-American, I had never heard of Vail. Aspen, yes. Vail and Breckinridge, nope. But then I have no interest in skiing. So, it may be they are mainly famous in North America, or it may be they are famous amongst skiers. I fit in neither category.

I’m not able to think of a suitable alternative question/answer off the top of my head though, and I appreciate some letters are harder than others.

Well I agree with the above comments. And when I saw someone who doesn't do any effort to make it reachable, I give the quizz the mark it deserves :)

The NA questions are about the ski resort, a Great Lake, a US state capital, and another of the continent's largest lakes. That's not "four questions about villages."

I said it before but Hutus aren't an ethnic group. It's like saying people with an income below a certain amount are an ethnic group. And the Rwandan government doesn't use the classification anymore.

I didn't look it up this time, but last time I looked it up, this theory was debatable.

I'm surprised so many people know about the Fête des Lumières - or do they just see the French and guess any French city beginning with an L? I mean, I'm French, and I didn't think it would be this well-known!

The only four letter L place names that came to mind were Lyon, Lima and Laos. Since this looked French, Lyon was it. But yeah, I was not familiar with the Festival of Lights before this.

It was the only one i had to have a guess at but French, four letters starting with L. Wasn't difficult.

I'm not American or a skier but I still knew of Vail.

Surprised Mt Cook is the lowest. I would have thought 4 letters associated with NZ and starting with a C was eminently guessable
