"What sea touches Yemen, Oman, Iran, Pakistan, and India?" According to the International Hydrographic Organization, it doesn't touch Iran. See p. 20 of "https://www.iho.int/iho_pubs/standard/S-23/S-23_Ed3_1953_EN.pdf".

caspian sea is a lake not sea

Maybe the question could be rephrased to "body of water". "Lake" seems misleading (even though it's correct) since "Sea" is part of the name.

I said "Kirachi" instead of "Karachi". Right sound but spelled with the wrong vowel. Damn.

I wrote 'urangutang'

I don't get why it didn't take it as correct

Probably because the quizmaster never even imagined a spelling like that.

The same reason why it wouldn't take 'oorungootang' as correct.

According to Oxford Dictionary, the alternative spelling to 'orangutan' is 'orangutang'.

I've always heard it called "French Indochina" could that be accepted as well?
+2
Level 59
Jul 3, 2019
Not anymore... The region still referred to as Indochina but it is no longer French. Also the question is phrased 'what is', not 'what was'.
+4
Level 82
Jul 3, 2019
French Indochina was Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Indochina also includes Thailand, Myanmar, and part of Malaysia. Maybe they could switch out Laos for Thailand to make the question less ambiguous.

Whether Thailand is included in Indochina appears to depend on how you define Indochina, so it might be just to avoid ambiguity

Bangladesh, despite its reputation for being very densely populated, is actually only fourth in Asia. Singapore, Maldives, and Bahrain are ahead of it. I actually tried Bahrain first before remembering Singapore.

Convince the rest of the world to call it that and Quizmaster will add it. Considering this is an English site, it will not allow spellings of places in different languages if it is not used commonly enough.
