got everything except Coke, Peace Corps and FedEx. Maybe I haven't been in the country in so long that I hadn't heard those. I think this is definitely one of those quizzes that is almost impossible for anyone who is not American.

Is that a problem? Why do people complain when a quiz is "too American?" Isn't this an American web site? I think they do a pretty good job at catering to those in other countries, considering that this is an American site.

The term "American" commonly refers to someone from the USA. I realize that North and South America are all part of the "Americas." However, if you read kalbahamut's comment then you would know that I was referring to the USA.

In the English language the term "American" is used as a demonym for the United States, but in the Spanish language, the term used for a resident of the US is "estadounidense". Its a language barrier problem, and the term used is most certainly correct.

Did I say it was a problem? It was an observation. Take your Midol.

Pretty amusing that someone thought Kalbahamut was actually complaining about a quiz being too American. As for it being near impossible for a non-American - not wholly true. I managed well enough - a few of these slogans are also used in Australia. That said, there were definitely some I wouldn't have gotten without spending time in the US.

And how is anyone meant to know this is an american website? Jeez louise, surely only an american would say that. For me a website is a website

Why do people have to COMPLAIN about comments like this... He only states that it is probably hard for people that arent from america. You are the only one that were complaining there, he was just stating a fact. Quizzes like this are hard when you are not from the US plain and simple.

kalbahamut was simply making a reasoned observation and he was right. I knew a few, guessed a couple from assuming that the beers would be American brands but there were still some obscure and unknown answers

I was with you until that last crack. I know you meant it as a joke but it is insulting to women.

Ugh, I agree, that was out of line. Nothing like an easy menstruation joke to prove you've mastered the comedic arts, not to mention the entire realm of known knowledge.

HelenO, your juvenile, mean-spirited and hypocritical rantings elsewhere on the site leave your credentials for measuring the maturity level of others' comments tenuous at best.

ander, the comment is not intended to insult anybody and any offense taken is the responsibility of the recipient who felt offended.

Kalbahamut, I really do enjoy and learn from your comments and discussions, - even the times I disagree with you, - but I still think this time you are wrong. I believe you truly don't understand why. The Midol thing is too much of a cliche put-down against women to let it pass unchallenged. Midol is a female-only medication and your remark can come off as, "Instead of arguing with a man you should be ladylike, submissive, and non-opinionated, and the only reason you are acting this way must be because it's your 'time of the month'." Most of the women I know consider that cliche as tantamount to being called a b****. I hope you will choose a different comeback in the future.

I stand by my response.

Call another woman a "d*ck", tell her that she lacks the balls to do something, tell her she needs to get the sand out of her jock strap, whatever, I'm not going to take offense on behalf of all men. If I did, my response would be on me. I would be choosing to interpret the comment in a way that I deemed offensive.

If someone is engaging in emotional histrionics not warranted by the situation, as if they've got a hormonal imbalance, and I point this out, it's a slight against them. Not everyone else who has ever been in a similar situation before.

Also I would *never* assert, think, or imply that to be "lady-like" is to be submissive or have no opinions or not speak up for yourself. *Ever*. And PMS doesn't affect all women the same way. Though I lived through an at-times nightmarish childhood with a mother who *was* affected by it very much, and she'll be the first to admit to the terror that it made her. Anyway, these assumptions, also, are on you.

It's not. I knew the expression, but didn't even try it since it has nothing to do with brands, and therefore seemed obviously invalid as an answer.

Got 12 as an Australian. Burger King, Pork, Disneyland, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, eBay, Gillette, BMW and Mentos have all travelled, and American beers are easy to guess. Could you accept Weet-bix for breakfast of champions? Same marketing campaign under that name down here.

Tricky quiz for us non Americans. A few slogans on here that we don't have in Britain, a products we have under different names and a few that I have no idea what the heck they are, Folgers and Rice-a-roni.

Ohh and surprisngly enough the US Marines don't advertise much in Britain. Lol

I actually got 7 :O :O I am baffled !!!For minutes I thought it would be none, then I got pepsi and gillete. Then a few by random guessing, like I only know one american beer and there are three beer questions...so i got a hit. (btw I tried duffman for the first question haha) I totally guessed ebay, it hink I tried cola for the picker upper, random hit, and the uncola, well what is sort of in the genre but not cola, so an educated guess. And mentos, it sort of rang a bell. So only KNEW 2 or 3

I suggest you allow "Highlife" to be an acceptable answer more than "Miller." If not, at least add "Highlife" to the list.
