Disappointed that Mississippi is listed rather than the Missouri. The Mississippi is the longest river system in the US, but the Missouri has a longer main stem (even if not by much). Very good quiz on the whole.

The Rio Brazos can't possibly be longer than the Rio Grande. I guess the Rio Grande doesn't count as "in" Texas, because it's on the border?

The Brazos is entirely in Texas. Rio Grande flows through two other states and the border.

The Wye river is not in England , touches England but majority and start of it is in Wales , that is a fundamental error , question should read 5th biggest river in UK , just to inform you Great Britain would of been correct also , GB has 3 constituent countries ,those being England , Scotland and Wales ..when you add Northern Ireland it is then the UK , bit like Saying New York biggest city in Canada. Or even Russia really , ..so please before insulting 10 million people again please do research , thanks

Splendid quiz. But the river Wye actually starts in Wales, flows a little through England, and then finishes along the border between the two :-)

Agree with earlier comment about the Mississippi. The Missouri is longer, if only by about 20 miles.

All down to the daft way in which the river system is named, isn't it? The river that flows out into the Gulf of Mexico close to New Orleans is the longest in N. America. The fact that we humans have chosen to name it the Mississippi and its longest the tributary the Missouri, should not blind us to that simple geographical fact. Similar remarks apply to the Ob and the Irtysh, the Murray and Darling etc.

Missed Jubba, Fraser and Wye. I was a bit slow catching onto what the clue was getting at with the last one. Kinda surprised as many people are getting Jubba as are - people clearly have their Somali geography down to a far greater extent than me.

I'm surprised only 16% are getting the Pearl River even though its urban delta of Guangzhou is a mainstay of quizzes and debate on JetPunk. It's the economic powerhouse of Chinese exports.

Haha, I loved the clue for the English river. I tried the correct spelling of all five "W"s, then settled on "why" and decided to try alternate spellings. A fun quiz!

The Chinese popularly believe that the Yellow River was the cradle, however, archaeology shows that settlements sprang up along both the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers around the same time. The Yellow River thing is a hang over from the Zhou Dynasty looking to legitimise their claims to the throne. I think you should accept both answers.

You should accept Li for yellow river as that's its original name.

Maybe fine a river which name actually starts with Y, like the Yangtze river.

The Li river is a river in southern China on the back of the 20 yuan bill, the Yellow river is in northern China and is yellow, so they are different.
