Fun! But it says "won't they shouted out with glee".

I always learned it as "As they shouted out with glee" rather than "and." I found it both ways online.

I hate this song because it is the opposite of what Christmas is about. Poor Rudolph was ostracized until the other reindeer realized that he could be of use to them. Rudy should have told them to go get bent.

Teddy the Red-Nosed Senator by Bob Rivers has always been one of my favorites for this reason. "Teddy the Red-Nosed Senator had a very shiny car / and if you ever saw it / you were probably near a bar... that's how the police found him / wrapped around a maple tree / Teddy the Red-Nosed Senator / he's a drunken S.O.B."

right. Singing songs to mock the personal tragedies of someone's life because they belong to a different political party than you is so much more in the Christmas spirit.

Exactly Kalbahamut. Some people are so callous and rude. Not to mention being hypocrites.

Totally, heracles. I get them coming to my quizzes and leaving obnoxious comments all the time, accusing me of saying offensive things about others when they're the ones leaving comments with pointed insults directed at one specific user, sometimes blunt and other times lazily shielded. Lame, right?

If someone drinks and drives, they don't deserve sympathy. In some countries, killing someone in a drunken road accident can count as murder even if it was entirely accidental.

you're still making a silly song out of someone's tragic death. That people enjoy singing because they enjoy the meanness of it and it satisfies their partisan dislike of the other. Teddy wasn't the only person in the car. I have no special sympathy for alcoholics or drunk drivers at all.

Maybe I'm not being clear: if you want to criticize Ted Kennedy for getting a woman killed, by all means do it. But if the way you do it is with a smug look on your face singing a happy song... you've just given up the moral high ground.

The counter-version I learned as a child was "Randolph the bow-legged cowboy had a very shiny gun and if you ever saw it you would turn around and run. All of the other cowboys used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Randolph play in any poker games. Then one foggy Friday night sheriff came to say, 'Randolph with your gun so bright won't you lead my posse tonight?' Then how the cowboys loved him as they shouted out with glee. Randolph the bow-legged cowboy, come and have a beer with me." We couldn't sing that one around the parents though because it mentioned playing poker and drinking beer.

One of the "nosed" items does not connect with the rest of them, which all fill in when you type "nose" - it's the last one in the song.

Never noticed how weird the intro is. The singer concedes you know second-tier reindeer like Donder, but then asks if you know the most famous reindeer of all. Sure, you know Franklin Pierce, but have you ever heard of Abe Lincoln?
