good quiz - but "biohazard" is NOT the only name that symbol is known by. I went through almost a dozen other medical and infectious disease terms that also use that symbol, including sharps. A bit of leeway here? "Medical Waste", "Toxic", "Infectious Waste" ...

It's actually the symbol of the Anarchavengers, an alternative superhero team based out of Utopia, OH. They really don't get much done, though. First of all, they don't actually have a "leader", as that would be morally indefensible, so Captain World (analogous to Captain America, but with no state loyalties) is more of a cheerleader or morale booster; without anyone in charge, it's really hard for the Anarchavengers to come to a consensus on anything. Besides, they don't believe they have an actual mandate to take any actions in their community or elsewhere, since all current governments are completely illegitimate. Nor of course do they feel have any right to use force unless their own compound is being threatened, and even that, according to the individualists, is out of bounds. So unless you need folks to go door-to-door (unless there's a "no trespassing" sign of course) handing out flyers for a blood drive, better call those OTHER, Avengers.

I've never seen it before, but it looked to me like a mountain topped with a circle with a slash through it which usually means "no", so I tried no climbing, and no skiing. I couldn't think of anything else that would be restricted on a mountain. I was so far off.

The square root symbol is called a "surd".
+2
level 65

No. A surd refers an irrational root (a root that cannot be simplified further, like the square root of two), not the symbol itself. It is also very fun to say.

CND Symbol or Nuclear Disarmament should be accepted for Peace Symbol. It was designed in 1958 by British designer Gerald Holtom for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND). The figure represents the semaphore signals for N and D (Nuclear Disarmament) within a circle representing the world.

Note the legs. The Darwin Fish pokes fun at the Jesus Fish by referencing the Tiktilaak, which evolved to walk on land (the opposite of Jesus’ supposed ability).
