Never heard of some of these bizarre songs before.. Baby Elephant Walk, Treefingers, Black Dog?... but as usual with these quizzes managed to get them all anyway on the strength of the clues. Even if the synonyms aren't exact, close enough.

You've never heard of Henry Mancini, Radiohead, or Led Zeppelin?
+13
Level 72
Sep 12, 2013
Having heard of a band doesn't imply knowing all of their songs, especially non-hits. Only Black Dog by Zeppelin is somewhat popular.

Heard of Radiohead and Zeppelin, sure. But I haven't memorized the names of all of their songs.

Then I guess you shouldn't take the following quizzes:

haha.. I'd probably do horribly at both. I will take some comfort in the fact that I've mastered both the Nine Inch Nails discography and Weird Al Parodies quizzes, though. ;-)

did you replace it with King of the Road? Because I never heard of that one, either.

Good thing the yardstick isn't whether you've heard of a song or not.

I loved the song Black Dog for years before I actually figured out what it's called. Not a big fan of Radiohead, but Treefingers is an excellent title (as is Timber Phalanges)

I'm pretty certain you have heard Black Dog. It's the song "Hey hey momma say the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you grove." The title is not in the song, but the song is wildly overplayed on classic rock stations.

For anyone who still doesn't recognize it, the instrumental part goes:

duh nuh nuh nuh nuh NUUUH nuh

DUH nun Nuh nu-uh nuh nuh NUUUH

nuuuuh duh nuh Nuh nuh Nuh nuh NUH nuuuuh

You'd know Baby Elephant Walk if you heard it. A friend of mine used to busk with his saxophone in Covent Garden (it's in London people) and he'd break into Baby Elephant Walk if a particularly fat tourist waddled by. Very cruel, and yet very funny...

Love the diversity- please accept British/Australian spelling of "boulevarde". To the person who maintains "Baby Elephant Walk" is not "somewhat popular"... that would be like me claiming the same of "Gangnam Style" last year because I don't listen to chart music (I first heard of it long after it was the most watched you tube video of all time). Maybe a quick google before commenting...

I was liking the diversity, and when I got to Baby Elephant (discussed ad nauseum) I loved it. For more obscure Mancini look up March of the Cue Balls which I sometimes mix up with it.

Camaro for Corvette is stretching it. Maybe you should change it to Sting Ray.

Why not use a synonym for "don't" to make the quiz consistent? It's in two clues and stands out. "Refrain from" or "avoid" would work easily. Fun quiz!

A better synonym for 'Corvette' would probably be 'Chevrolet' since a corvette - without the Chevrolet before it - is a type of warship :'D

Can't you replace the "don'ts" with "refrain from" / "is/are unable to/incapable of" or something along those lines? I'd love to see these where all of the words are replaced with synonyms in some variant.

For example: "Stone your person in the manner of gale-force winds" or "Avenue Monarch"
