I think you should except Van Halen for Best of Both Worlds since Eddie has basically become a cartoon of himself :)

Snow White and the forest animals sang it while she was cleaning the dwarves' cottage.

Although Elphaba does sing a majority of Defying Gravity, it actually is a duet between Elphaba and Glinda, end of Act 1 of Wicked.

I'm in agreement with Van Halen for "Best of Both Worlds," but am I the only one who wanted to put Cake for "Go The Distance"?

Also there is a song called "Out There" in the South Park movie sung by Satan. That should be a correct answer too.

seeing that made me crack up. there's so many great songs from the Simpsons that could've been used. "Spiderpig" "oh, streetcar" the duet between Krusty and his dad among others.

Out There is also a song in Hello Dolly, sung by Cornelius. Should be accepted as an answer.

I kept on putting in Satan for "Out There" until I realized the song was "Up There". Never did get out there right.

Three clues about Sesame Street seems a bit excessive, no? I mean, the quiz has such great variety otherwise... (I might just be mad because I never watched Sesame Street and missed 2 out of 3.)

Only "C Is for Cookie" and "Rubber Duckie" are from Sesame Street. If you're thinking of "The Rainbow Connection," it's from The Muppet Movie. I do feel they could have had fewer than seven animated Disney characters, though.

I think if you're taking a quiz called "Songs Sung by Fictional Characters," you should be prepared to see a lot of Disney.

I mean, sure, but more than a third? Nearly half, if you count Mary Poppins and Hannah Montana. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Disney, but still. They've only got four stage musicals, maybe swap out one or two animated Disney characters for some more of them.

Maria von trapp (Sound of Music) is not a fictional character. Sound of Music is a musical based on the lives of the von trapp family and their escape.

The real Maria never sung that song but the fictional version of her did. Also the real von Trapps would not have escaped as shown in the film (the route they take would go straight into Germany) so the film has fictional elements.

By this logic any real life person who does something in a film about them that they didn’t do in real life becomes a fictional character. I think it’s fairer to say that the lives of the Von Trapps were dramatized but not fictionalized.

It doesn't say "fictionalized character" in the description, it says "fictional character," as in not a real person.

I'm glad I wasn't the only person who felt the need to point out that Maria Von Trapp is a real person.

Sad to see Homers salad song so low . one of the many great Simpsons songs . In fact animated shows Family Guy ( Mr Booze etc ) and South Park ( Kyles Mom or anything by Cartman ) have some brilliantly written songs.

Really confused as to why Maria VonTrapp, a very real person, is present on a quiz about fictional characters. Yeah, she never sang the song but she definitely existed.
