I mean lame as in the modern usage of being boring and uncool. I am of course not referring to the older usage and calling the town of Beaverton a cripple.

Beaverton is maybe 15 minutes' drive from Portland and is home to Oregon State. It's certainly not a lame place. Nike's founder, Phil Knight, is from Portland.

I barely know Ty Cobb is associated with baseball, but since I know all the others I had plenty of time to just guess states until I landed on the right one.
