"before they are cool?" Considering the lingo, wouldn't "before they are mainstream" make more sense?

Yeah, tried mainstream and popular

It's based on the obnoxious refrain that hipsters often use; eg: "I liked Vampire Weekend before they were cool." The alternatives you offered make sense, but the common wording of the joke is "before it was cool."

How are triangles associated with hipsters? I'm from Brooklyn, and I've never heard of that. Also, "acculturation" is an A-word that fits the definition you gave. I think you should accept it. Ditto for "insincere," although I concede that "ironic" is a much more appropriate term for hipsters. Maybe reword the clue?

I thought of "imitation." Also didn't think the clue was very strong. Not sure how to make it better... "Hipsters wear clothes they don't like but actually do to be ______"?

You obviously haven't seen the picture of some girl in a train station with a bag that has a triangle on it. Look up "triangle bag tumblr" on google images and it'll come up.

I was thinking about "be there or be square". Now if you are there, you aren't a square. So you must be a triangle instead? No idea if that's right or wrong. That was my logic for getting it.

I didnt get much answers correct, but I am glad that I got "Wes Andersen" - because his movies have "hipster" written all over them. As Micheal said to Trevor - a "protohipster" :)

I could only get 6, but after scrolling through the comments, I managed to get 3 more. I have no clue what triangles have to do with hipsters, and I would appreciate someone explaining that oddity to me. All told, I totally suck at hipster stuff... and I'm fine with that.

Just heard on the news last week that hipsters are now passe. The new thing is yuccies - Young Urban Creatives, who are basically a cross between yuppies and hipsters with an artistic bent, and they want to see a profit from their efforts.

I almost didn't get the ironic question because I thought it said L not i. It's so hard to tell which is which. The other clues tipped me off though since other ones asking for words were capitalized.

You couldn't pedal a bike with *no* gears. A fixie has one gear, and it's "fixed" to the rear wheel, so no coasting. Also, you can get them at Wal-Mart now, so they may not be legit hipster accessories.

It is not like bikes with one gear is a new thing...(you know, that is how they all started out, well actually no gear at all is, one where you had to "walk" yourself)

Or is it that unheard of in the US? Like some people dont know that not all cars have an automatic transmission..(what is that stick for...) cause it is very rare in the US (like the opposite of europe 95%<->5%)
