I'm not sure how you'd do it, but it would be cool if you could make something like this for baseball as well.

I'm sure my dad would do well on this quiz. He obsesses over the stats and wins all the leagues he's in about 60-70% of the time. I only got 12.

He got top prizes many times on the backs on Moss and Rice

Quizmaster: Did you go back and use statistics from the past and plug them into todays formulas? The reason I ask is I didn't know fantasy football existed back in '84 when Dan Marino was playing.

Cool. I thought Don Hutson's 1942 season would be on the list but then I went back and plugged his numbers into the formula. Close but no dice.

Extrapolate Hutson's numbers over a 16 game schedule and he's tops on the list. Interesting.

Surprised that Tony Gonzalez isn’t higher, he’s the all time leader for tight ends in yard and catches, not sure about touchdowns.

This quiz measures single-season explosions. Tony was a great TE and had some amazing seasons. But health and longevity was a big factor in his all-time accolades. 17 full seasons missing only a couple of games, I believe.

Dak Prescott was on pace to make this list. Too bad he got hurt. But also not since I'm a Giants fan

I was pretty pleased with getting 18 on this. I just typed in various family members, celebrities, friends, presidents etc. With the deluge of NFL quizzes recently I thought I'd better try one, wasn't expecting any points.

Whoops, that was supposed to be Darren Waller. I just removed that row so as not to mess up the stats. I'll add him back when the quiz is updated after next season.

Yeah but this is for an individual season. He was just short of Passing Dickerson for the single season rushing record after that ACL tear near the end of his career and he STILL didn't make the list. There was a 5 year stretch were Peterson was the consensus first overall pick every year.

How is it that Barry Sanders never made this list? He led the NFL in rushing four seasons.
+1
Level 72

Touchdowns are very valuable in fantasy (6 points each, or the equivalent of 60 yards rushing/receiving). And Barry Sanders wasn't as good at getting into the endzone as he was at racking up yards. Probably the Lions holding him back in that regard. He's 4th all time in rushing yards but 10th in rushing touchdowns.

He also wasn't used in the passing game that much.

I know a whole heck of a lot about football. I have never heard of the name of Pete Retzlaff. Too old for me to remember as a player and not a good enough career for it to be part of the history of the sport. Was able to get Hirsch Simpson and Christensen. Hirsch and obviously Simpson famous enough and Christensen was still well known when I started really paying attention.

A little surprised Derrick Henry never cracked the list, but I guess it makes sense given how little he is involved in the passing game and that he's always played for a team that runs clock and doesn't get in many shootouts. That and playing in the new error of pass-heavy football. Also surprised Peyton's '04 4500 yard/49 TD season didn't crack the list. Again, hard to crack this list without being a dual threat pass/run guy.

Fantasy is all about quarterbacks who can run and running backs who can catch.

Nice quiz! It was cool to see a few pre-Super Bowl names on the charts. I ended up scoring 36/56. Thanks for the quiz!
