Quite surprised by how little of the earth shares this specific climate type. I looked into it, and it turns out that "tropical monsoon" areas, which have a more seasonal rainfall, cover a much bigger area, which is why countries like Venezuela weren't included.

What about them, does the area covering the countries seem bigger than 100,000 sq. km.

Venezuela? Based on the climate map, Venezuela really needs to be included. Half of Amazonas (90.000 km2), 20% of Bolivar (47.000 km2), half of Delta Amacura (20.000 km2) and the area on the south side of Zulia straddling into Táchira and Merida covers another 10.000 km2. This totals to an estimated 167.000 km2 and that's being conservative. Used the wikipedia maps of the climate zones and states for areas. // Purely looking at the map from the cited source: 35% of Amazonas + the eastern border + Zulia area in the west should get it to 100.000 km2 as well :)

Surprised the Philippines made the list. I heard that most of the Philippines had been deforested.

The trees could've been deforested, but the climate is still there.
