The Sam Beckett one is the closing words of the opening sequence. The opening is "Theorising that he could time travel within his own lifetime, Dr Sam Beckett stepped into the TITLE OF SHOW accelerator... and vanished"

Good quiz! I wonder if you could maybe drop Price Is Right though. No one outside the US would know this. Some countries might have their own version of that show, but obviously a different intro.

I think it's ok, it's a pretty famous show. I'm from Ireland and I got it but I do watch How I Met Your Mother and it featured in that show

Well you basically have to know who Bob Barker is. If you know that, then you can get it.

I got it and I've never been to the US nor watched the show, except maybe briefly a German incarnation with the same premise. It's been referenced so many times in different tv shows/movies, so I think many of us have a decent chance of guessing it because of that.

What about Xena Warrior Princess?? That's the first show that came to my mind when I saw this quiz. Too bad it wasn't on it

haha... I had the same problem. I couldn't remember his exact price tag for a while but eventually did get 6 million

best opening narration IMO was Keith David saying, "1000 years ago, superstition and the sword ruled. It was a time of darkness, it was a world of fear, it was the age of Gargoyles."

When I was of the age that I watched it (religiously), I didn't speak any English yet. That's my excuse and I stick to it! -- anyway I am surprised so few got it. Too many kids on this site? ;)

LOL got 6, which I think is pretty impressive considering I've never seen a single episode of any of these shows

Only 15% got the Outer Limits? I guess the next line really wouldn't make sense to the younger generation: "We control the vertical. We control the horizontal". Those of us of a certain age remember having to adjust those. So those lines really meant something. Outer Limits and Twilight Zone. Two incredible shows.

Not everyone grew up in North America or had access to these shows outside of it. If I gave you a list of shows we watched in my home country I bet you would not have heard of any ;) and yes, yes; I know this is an American website, just replying to the comment in kind.

The Dragnet opening sounds a lot like what's written at the beginning of every Fargo episode! Although the latter has no narrator...

Well, that's not easy when you're French, and you see the show, but you have to search for its English title…

Yeah, "L'agence tous risques" is "The A-team", now I know… :)

The Fargo opener is pretty iconic, although I do recognize the show started after this quiz was created.

"This is a true story. The events depicted took place in [location] in [year]. At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed. Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred."
