The "oldest" median age? Surely that should be "highest"? :) Funny quiz, though. Those states are a mixture of places that are de-industrializing, have taken few recent immigrants and in one case (Florida) serves as a magnet for retirees.

Gotta love those East Coast States like Montana, Michigan, and West Virginia. Even Vermont and Pennsylvania aren't technically on the coast.

The coast of Maine has become unaffordable as it's become a commodity to be bought and sold, taken over by temporary summer residents and a few imported year-round retirees. . There's nothing inland to keep anyone there. But then again, it doesn't look like the Midwest.

There are a lot of retirees in Florida but there are also a lot of younger people moving there for various reasons as well as a lot of new immigrants.
