44 of them do not look incompetent nor ignorant of international affairs and policy making. What happened America? I voted. I respect the results, and understand the desire for change,... but the agent for change is also important. Let's hope the country succeeds.
There are only 44 answers to the quiz. The reason there are 45 Presidents is because Grover Cleveland's terms were non-consecutive, making him the 22nd and 24th President. So yeah, saying "44 of them do not look incompetent" doesn't quite gel with what CyrusK is trying to say, because there are only 44 people pictured here.
trust me bro a lot of these presidents had absolutely abyssmal foreign policy, take madison's reckless escalation of the war of 1812 or literally hundreds of other events. Sure biden isn't great, but he's miles better than some of these presidents.
Well, he had to rule between Washington and Jefferson. After seeing his legacy outshadowed by two of the greatest US presidents in history, I'm sure that at least he can rest assured that he'll look great between those two pieces of horseshit.
Adams's portrait isn't on any US money, and just isn't encountered nearly as often as a lot of the other early Presidents. It's no surprise to me that it's less recognized.
Lol that's a bit detached from reality. Regardless of whether you like or chose to recognize them, these men were/are presidents at one point. I don't like Trump but I don't deny the fact that he was president. Like what's the point of that?
If the truth be told, with very few exceptions (Jefferson, Grant, Lincoln, FDR, Teddy Roosevelt... even JFK if his photos weren't
so widely published) and obviously Obama, most of these photos are interchangeable. We may know of their accomplishments and/or scandals before, during or after their terms in office, but there is very little difference in their appearances.
For sure. They're nearly all white men between age 45 and 65, and they're from the white-collar sector of society, so it's really about using context clues to pin down the era of the picture (e.g., photo or painting? Color or black & white? What kind of tie and collar combination? Facial hair?) I recognize probably 32 presidents without any help, but for the others (Garfield, Hayes, Benjamin Harrison, Pierce, Tyler...), I just narrow it down to time period and eliminate the ones I could recognize on my own. Works fairly well. I got 42 right.
Well...I got 19.I think it's not bad for a European! But I accidently guessed Millard Fillmore, who's apperently the least guessed one of all. Well done me :D
Name all the presidents in order. I can do that. Name them by picture I can only muster a little over 50%. I even had a puzzle with their pictures on it growing up.
Obama actually is Half Caucasian and Half Indonesian, Obama's biological dad is actually Indonesian, while his biological mom is white, those two ethnicity's mixed together make an African American skin color, Obama's stepdad is Kenyan though, so his Stepdad is African and his Biological Dad is Indonesian, so technically we haven't really had a black president yet, but you know, he's close enough.
"Black" is a BS label without any non-arbitrary definition, but, yeah.. Barack's father is from Kenya. His mother married Lolo Soetoro 4 years after Barack was born.
They hardly look identical, but that aside there have only been 5 presidents in US history who sported beards. And every one of them was president sometime between 1861 and 1893. It was the fashion of the day. Both before and after there are none. Only one with so much as a moustache.
44/45. Missed Harding. The painting threw me off on the time period and for whatever reason, I only know how he looks from the one photo where he has his hand at the side of his face.
For those wondering why there are 45 answers instead of 46 (as of 2023). Grover Cleveland’s non-consecutive terms are counted as two different presidents but obviously we only require one portrait for him.
so widely published) and obviously Obama, most of these photos are interchangeable. We may know of their accomplishments and/or scandals before, during or after their terms in office, but there is very little difference in their appearances.

I'd def like 50 questions like this, but name the biggest thing known for, with a hint. I'm sure each has their own quiz, like a lot of states do.
